Not for use without footwear
My wife wore them around the house occasionally like she does many other pairs of socks, without footwear. Our floor is carpeted, yet these lasted a less than a month before large holes appeared in the outer layer in both the heel and towards the toes. These are much more fragile than other socks.
Not my favorite but they're fine
These were a gift. They are fine for what they are. They are two layers of sock and they are very soft. It's hard to keep the layers lined up properly when you wash/dry them. I prefer a wool sock for warmth, and these are not that, but they are fine for a cozy sock.
These socks really rock ... softly!
I got these amazing socks for my wife, and she absolutely loves them - she's definitely a sock aficionado! She says they're very soft and warm and super comfortable with or without shoes. Definitely a nice gift!

I enjoyed and appreciated the socks so much that I went back and bought another pair from REI. They keep my feet warm on long walks in the Winter months. Also liked the fact that the Woolrich socks have aloe imbedded In the foot layer of the double line socks.
Cozy on Trail!
I love these socks!! The comfort of sitting next to a fire in a cozy cabin brought on trail. My feet stayed warm and my boots weren’t stretched for room/still fit right!
