Stay put insole
My husband was impressed with these water shoes. They slip on and off easy and the insole is non removable so it stays in place. Advised to go up 1 size.

RETURNED IMMEDIATELY
These shoes are described as protecting feet on reefs (i.e., presumably sharp coral, shells, rocks, etc.). Unfortunately, the thinness/softness/flexibility of soles (bottoms) makes them woefully inadequate for this purpose. At best, these shoes would function only to walk on soft sand. Respectfully recommend REI consider either significantly changing the description of them, or stop selling them for this purpose.

Maybe not right use case

The sole is too soft and flexible, so hard to walk along the rocky surface along Texas lake and river beds as you feel each tiny rock you step on. Once in the boat they are ok. I just think they were not intended for my use, but that was not obvious to me till I tried. So prior to the purchase ask yourself: "What ground surface might I be walking on while wearing them?"

Bought for swimming, kept them as daily shoes

I bought these for lake swimming in the Adirondacks this summer. I wanted something that protected my feet on some woodland trails, would let me walk on wet rocks, and that wouldn't create drag in the water. These were perfect in that role: I noticed no major effect on my swim strokes (front crawl, breast stroke, side stroke). They are easy to wash and dry overnight. These have actually become my new daily shoes for the past few months. They're so quick to slip on and off that I almost never reach for anything else. The shoes are flexible and the soles are thin. That means my feet spread out comfortably and move naturally. I do feel everything underfoot, but I've weirdly started to enjoy that feeling too. On sandy beaches, they don't really keep the sand out. On a decent sandy beaches, you can probably go barefoot anyway. When I bought these, I was half-expecting never to use them and maybe return them. Now I absolutely love them.

Great reef shoes

Great reef shoes. They're pretty basic and that's all you need when it's just a small layer of protection between your feet and the rocks.

Good strong materials

I really like the nubbins and friction/traction these booties should give..... I take a women's 9.5 so ordered a men's 9; they are a tiny bit snug in the toe so we will see..... you'd think O'Neill is well enough known to make at least half sizes in men's since they want to be unisex

Great reef shoes

Got these for a rafting adventure and they were great. The fit is nice and they feel good on my feet. Good quality, material is soft and they dry easy.

Works well and comfy!

I put these through the test and wore them all day at a pool party. They dry off fairly quickly and are quite comfortable in and out of the water.

Versatile shoe

Bought these to use when sailing as grip is superior to most deck shoes. I also use them for rowing, paddle board and wind surfing.
