When I went to buy a bike, I intended to get the cheapest one in the store. At the REI Bike shop, I met Candice, the bike store manager. She was incredibly knowledgeable about bikes! After listening to her talk about the affordable option, I asked her to tell me about the most expensive bike they had. Once again, she impressed me with her expertise and suggested I test both bikes. I made the mistake of trying the more expensive model, the DRT 3.3, first. It blew me away instantly. I told her I wanted to buy that bike and skip testing the others. I should mention that Candice was gently guiding me towards the lower-cost option, which speaks volumes about REI’s commitment to customer satisfaction over profit. In the end, I left with an amazing bike, and I’m really grateful to Candice and the entire team at the bike shop. The experience made me feel like I wasn't just buying a bike but becoming part of a very cool community. P.S. I did a more thorough breakdown of the bike and my comparison with some other models on medium.com. Just search for the DRT 3.3.
Have had the 3.3 for a year and it does everything I want it to. So much better than my front suspension bike, and seems like a great first dual suspension. Great to have the REI bike shop under warranty for a year. I ride greens, blues, and flow black in Western North Carolina and handles it very well.
Great bike. Great price. Great service. I was looking for a bike for my wife and this came up in my search. Love the color and the components. Great fit for my wife and tremendous help from Michael during set up and pick up. All in all a great experience with the bike and the process. Wife loves the bike. Only had to modify handle bars but rest of bike set up was awesome for her requirements.
Just purchase this bike and it is awesome. Switching gears is very smooth
