Power on the go!
I just picked this bad boy up today and so far everything works great on it. I plugged it into two bluetti 120 solar penals that I also just got because I liked theirs better than the Ecoflow ones, and it worked. I was pulling about 175 watts off my first solar test, which is about what I expected. The app is pretty neat and I love how crazy fast this thing can charge up when you plug it into a wall outlet. Overall I am happy with my purchase and I look forward to putting it to the test this summer. Will update if it fails that test.
Excellent portable battery
Just got back from a week in the Grand Canyon and this battery was perfect for our van. We selected the EcoFlow because Goal Zero seemed unreliable (based on other REI user reviews), and then we tried to order a Rockpals from Amazon, a clearly fake product arrived (to Rockpals' credit they said they would refund us). And then we noticed this new brand pop up on REI's site -- and reviews looked solid (from other users on other sites). We loved that the EcoFlow charged very quickly, it was powerful and displayed overall energy output, and was a very sleek and well-built product. I suspect we will have many move great trips with this item. Very satisfied and haven't found any cons yet!
Keurig Coffee Maker Success!
Lots of smart people have not been able to guarantee that their 2000 watt inverters would work with a Keurig Coffee Maker. I am proud to say that my Ecoflow River Pro will make coffee with the Keurig K-Mini Plus. It takes a bit longer than plugged into my kitchen, but it works by the camp fire. I'll load a couple of photos. It spikes to about 1400 watts long enough to initialize the water heater. Then drops to 600w (max for the EcoFlow) while heating, then to a couple of watts while serving. It also is important to note that it takes 3% of the battery to make a 10-oz cup of coffee.
Extremely unreliable
Was planning on using it this weekend and when I turned it on it shows an error. After two hours of google I’ve realized that I am not alone experiencing this. The first users started to experience it 7mo ago and no solution has been shared by ecoflow. All users have to return the device to get a new one from the company. I have a very hard time to believe that all positive reviews are real.. check their facebook group before you buy..
It's ok...flaws outweigh positives
Good for short trips, but not necessarily good for long-term use. I also purchased the extension pack, to double the capacity. The awkward giant cable that is used to connect both batteries gets in the way. If you're in the market, I would buy the biggest capacity you can afford in an all-in-one package. EcoFlow does come out with software updates occasionally, which is nice, although it seems like I'm always on the phone or emailing customer service shortly after an update because the power station has a fault. I have to 2 stage charge my power station, because the battery will overheat if you try to charge it all at once.
Quiet portable power for camping
I purchased the EcoFlow River Pro to use with our rv travels. I wanted it to three main things while boondocking for a day or two at a time. Number 1 was to run my wife’s cpap. Number 2, make a pot of coffee. Number 3, charge laptop and phones. I ran a test to see how it would perform and it accomplished all 3. After a night using the cpap there was sill 75% charge left. The coffee I used is a 14 cup that draws 1000 watts, and I was half expecting it not to work, but it did the job. I decided to try it with a single serve coffee maker that draws 1500 watts, but that did not work. Not planning on using an electric kettle, but tried it to test the limits of the River Pro and it successfully heated 1.2 liters of water taking the River Pro down to 3%. Overall very happy this will meet my needs. If I were planning on longer stretches of boondocking, I would probably add the extra battery or solar panel.
Great portable power unit for home and camping!
River Pro is awesome unit! Have not used for camping yet, which will be main use and why purchased. Did have power go out recently while working from home. Was able to power router/fiber internet devices aa well as computer system, then restore VPN remote connection and continue with work. So, I have had an opportunity to use this when needed. Along with charging some new rechargeable flashlights and lanterns I now have for home and camping. Have nothing negative to say about this unit. Am glad I bought it. I chose EcoFlow after doing thorough review over other comparable items available.
Poor quality
Hate to add to the growing 1 star ratings but sadly, this thing has been unreliable and problematic from the very start. On first purchase, the fan would not stop while charging. It took a while for them to come out with a firmware update to fix this. Then a couple months later, the DC port would shut down on it's own after a couple of seconds of turning it on. Firmware update needed to fix this. Then a bit later, same issue and another firmware update but that did not fix it this time and instead killed the unit. Whole unit will not start up anymore. Completely unreliable and firmware updates are way too buggy. I certainly cannot rely on this in any way out in the field.
Worthless phone app breaks the device
Unfortunately, what seems like a quality piece of kit, is made almost useless by an extremely poor and dysfunctional phone app. It wouldn't be so bad if you didn't need the phone app to change some of the settings on the device, but all the important settings can only be controlled through the phone app, which is broken. This is becoming more more the case where a piece of hardware is only as good as the software that's required to use it.
Great quality and works great!
We purchased this back In November for an upcoming camping trip. We used it to power a tv, outdoor lights, a blender, a coffee maker, and of course charge phones- throughout the trip. It works great and keeps its charge really well. When the charge went below about 40% we would plug it in and the gas powered generator on our RV, it charged back up to 100% in amatter of minutes. Since then we have also used it at home, to power a fan for my elderly mom, who cannot tolerate heat. She had the fan on for several hours and when I check the battery charger, it had only lost about 20% of power. Definitely recommend- great for camping or home.
