Warm, not difficult to put on, protective
We know that if you need to wear shoe covers, especially in the winter, there has to be a way to take them on and off. The method that works for the Rapha Winter Overshoes is as follows: 1) find a rock or picnic bench to sit on, 2) take your shoes off, 3) slip your foot into the top ankle of the Rapha, 4) slip your foot into your shoes and tighten the laces/buckles, 5) stretch the toe portion of the Rapha over your shoes, 6) adjust the fabric around the sides of the shoes and 7) fasten the Velcro at the sole bottom. Maybe on the first day this method took a while. By day two, it took about two minutes. Today was supposed to be the first major winter storm, but it didn't arrive yet. So I cannot yet say how the Rapha performs in wet weather. Still I'm keen on writing a review for the Rapha as an EXCELLENT INSULATING layer. I wear Pearl Izumi X Alp Flow (flat soles, size 43 Eur, 10.5 US), originally from REI, for mountain biking. The Rapha Overshoes are the correct size according to the size chart. The fabric materials and edging trim are stretchy, yet rugged. Comfortable to wear and protective! Great design and performance!
