Very warm jacket
I bought this a week ago and I find this to be a bit different compare to my other fleece jackets because this got longer fibers. The fleece is very soft and comfy like those $15-$30 throw blankets that you can buy from your local retailers and seems like I can sleep with this while lying down on the sofa. The sides of the jacket are gridded fleece like from regular R2 jacket for more breathability. Like most other Patagonia jackets this offers the same configuration of pockets: 1 chest pockets with zipper, 2 handwarmer pockets also with zippers and 2 inside stashing pockets. I wore this walking on the trail and I found this very warm in temperatures around 40 plus degrees and it gets pretty hot at some point when doing some activity. I can't really speak much for the durabilty since I have no experience with Polartec fleece. I'm 5'10" 150lbs with 30-31 inch waistline and got a medium and it fits great. It weighs about 13.3 oz. I have the R1 Air hoody (also in a medium) which is also a "slim fit" according to Patagonia's website, but this R2 fleece runs a teeny tiny bit looser on the body and longer on the sleeve which is not a big deal for me. This is a great jacket. I got no regret buying this and might actually buy one in a different color in the future.
