Great design. Could maybe do with harder souls, mine lasted 12months of daily use before the grips on the heel wore away. Still water proof after 12 months.
The shoes are a bit narrow and stiff. First hour using them hurt my feet quite a bit, but this seems to improve with usage. They are also a bit long for my feet, but a smaller size would have been impossible to wear for me. Laces are really slippery, they come loose very easy. The fit of the shoe on the heel is really bad, my heels move quite a lot unless I tie the laces really tight. In order to secure the shoes on my feet I need to pull on the laces quite hard, hurts my fingers as well. Otherwise good quality, tried them a bit on wet stone, wet grass and a bit of a muddy slope, traction seems fine, did not get wet even without the GTX membrane.
I've always worn Adidas. I've bought so many pairs I couldn't put a number on it. Normally I would never order shoes online because you never know if they're going to fit but I figured since I've always worn 9 1/2 ordering them was just easier. Unfortunately I was surprised when the shoes came and they were a hole size to big! My GF shoes I ordered for her as well were way to big and she even ordered a half size smaller then normal. So beware to whomever might be reading this, if you order don't order your regular size. Now it's going to be weeks before we get the shoes we wanted.
Love these hiking shoes, especially on challenging trails and when carrying weight. They fit the bill for what I was looking for in a hiking shoe - supportive, stable, and with great traction. I bought them specifically for backpacking and they're close to perfect. As others have said, they are stiff, but not uncomfortable at all. I wouldn't use them for day hikes as a lighter weight more flexible shoe would be all I'd need, and yes, those would feel more comfortable for that use. But if I'm carrying weight, especially on technical terrain or off-trail, these are the best shoes I've ever used. There is one negative with these shoes though - the laces are lousy. They're round and too thin and slippery, making it hard to cinch the shoes. I replaced them with flat, girppier ones which work much better.
I work on my feet all day on all types of terrain. Grass, dirt, gravel, concrete, wood, etc. great shoe, with good arch support. I’m hard on shoes and so far these are holding up well.
I had version 2 of these shoes for a year and decided to buy the new version. One of the v3 shoes fell apart within 2 weeks of wearing. Shoes are comfortable but seem poor in quality.
They’ve good holding patterns on the bottom which work perfectly on snow or any flat surface. Wore them for hiking and felt confident in these shoes. Definitely worth it.
The shoes are comfortable good color and great fit would recommend.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Sturdy walking shoe, I use more for urban walking but sure it would make a great off road shoe in the warmer months. Good heal to toe drop, stops you getting bad feet if you put the miles in. I sized up 1/2 size and fit was perfect. Lasted well, but minor tears in toe/foot crease, but I've instantly bought a second pair. Only minor issue was I had replace the laces as they were too long, a fairly common issue on Adidas shoes, maybe it's my preference to not having loads of lace flopping around.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a nice shoe. I have not taken them on a trail yet. I wanted these shoes for over two years now. I finally broke down and bought them at a reasonable price. They are stiff and rigid. There is no give in the bottom heel plate. This give you less of a chance to roll an ankle while hiking. The upper material is strong feel like a polyfiber material that could handle hard abrasion of rocks and sand.
