Secure and great feel of traction. Not bad for the price. Looks good and not so aggressive. Great for light trail and commute.
The bearings on these pedals are so stiff the pedals will not spin. I thought using them might loosen them but after 15 miles they were just as stiff. I asked REI bike staff and they said that's the way they are. They were cheap but not worth the price.
I was expecting these Shimano Aluminum pedals to last a lifetime. Even it not lifetime, at least more than couple months. After 2.5 months and 300 miles, both pedals have developed lateral play. And one is making click every revolution with downstroke. Because I wax my chains, I don't use degreaser to clean my bike. I only use soapy water. So I don't believe it is issue caused by my maintenance or condition.
The pedal body is a good shape and grippy, but the build quality is disappointingly low for a Shimano product. On my set the pedal body rocked back and forth on the right hand side axle within about 50 miles; when I got a warranty replacement they exhibited the exact same behavior. I suspect they'll fall apart sooner rather than later.
