Dry, warm, making you better than ever
I’m 5’1 and 100lbs. Purchased the small. First time bib owner. Super comfortable. Lighter than my Volcolm pants and I swear made me a better rider. Surpassed my speed goal and didn’t even notice. Kept me dry and warm in 12-19F so far while it was snowing.
Obsessed with color and fabric
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These are great bibs, haven't tested them skiing but I really like the way they feel and fit. I'm 5'4" approx 140 pounds, but I have a 40" hip and thick thighs so I ordered a medium instead of a small despite having a 27" waist. They fit great in legs and butt, but they are loose around the midsection. To be honest, I believe that's how they would likely fit anyways with a small, it is difficult for bibs to be form fitting everywhere. Room for layers everywhere! Love that there are thigh vents and the shoulder straps are stretchy. If you have a big butt/hips, size up! The size chart is really true to size here.
Ripped during first wear
I have multiple pairs of snow pants. Many I have had for years. Wore these skiing yesterday, fell once and the butt split. Not pleased I payed $200 for something that didn’t last more than a day. I do not recommend this product due to the cheap material. They are cute, but not worth the money.
Great bibs!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Happy to see an XXL size option. I usually wear an XL in other brands (size 14-16), but NorthFace XL is always snug on me. The XL short, fit but not as comfortably as I would have liked. The XXL short was quite a bit wider and curvier and longer. Which wasn't ideal, but better than feeling like I couldn't comfortably bend and move and layer underneath. I'm 5-3" and will need to hem the length a bit. Wish they were the same length as the XL short which were the perfect length on me. I tried both the insulated and this non-insulated variety, and ended up keeping the non-insulated because then I can layer underneath to regulate how warm I'll be.
Runs small
Too small and form fitting to move around comfortably. I usually wear a medium or large in womens and purchased the large and not being a skinny person they were way too form fitting and I have to return. Went to look at reviews because of the high rating and most of them were paid.
My happy ski pants
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love these pants so much. They're not the typical boring "ski dress code appropriate" pant. I was talked out of them initially by a very strict skier who said skiers don't wear stuff like that. I then saw people wearing the pattern (coat/pants) at the resorts and REGRETTED not buying them. I stalked TNF's site until my size was in again and ordered them without delay. All that to say, they bring joy to the wearer and isn't that what skiing is about? Bibs just keep you warmer with helping keep your core warm & the pockets are amazing. I can stash my cc and and little necessary items up top in the zippered pocket and snacks in the pockets on my legs. These are so easy to layer in as well. So very easy to use for spring skiing or cold winter snow days.
too tight in butt and thighs
I am 5’4 and 125lbs, typically wear 26-28 or 2/4 in pants and I carry most of my weight in my butt and thighs. I ordered both a small and a medium with the intention of keeping whichever would fit me better - neither did. The small was way too tight on my thighs and butt despite the top half fitting quite well. The medium fit my legs better - maybe still even a little tight - but I was swimming in the top half and I wound up returning both pairs. I would definitely recommend steering away from these if you have bigger hips/thighs/butt especially since these are not insulated and might need extra layers on cold days! I also was far from wowed by the quality, the material seemed ok and the straps couldn’t unbuckle so it seems like you’d have to take off your jacket anytime you’d need to use the bathroom.
Great pants, but run EXTREMELY small
I tried a LOT of snow pants on, and this was the only pair I found that was proportioned well for curvy bodies! Often when snow pants have enough room in the thighs they end up having WAY too much room in the butt / waist, but these pants don't have that issue. So I'd recommend them for curvy body types and people with "thunder thighs." There were two things about these pants that I was disappointed in-- 1. The colors these come in are extremely cute, but the cute colors are only available in small sizes. Why are larger sizes only stocked in black? Don't people with bigger thighs deserve to look cute on the slopes, too? 2. Like other reviewers have mentioned, the sizing unfortunately runs pretty small. I usually wear an L or sometimes an XL in pants, but had to size up to a XXL in order to have enough room to move around in these. They were just really tight across the hips otherwise. So if you buy them, plan accordingly and maybe buy a size up from what you usually wear. I'm bummed that due to the sizing being too small, I had to settle for the black pair instead of the cute rose color. But all in all I'm excited to hit the slopes in a pair of pants that seems (so far) durable, comfy, and water resistant.
Great Quality & Cute
I got this for a ski trip to Park City, and I love it! I'm taking it for another ski trip this month. It's well-fitted and a more flattering bib compared to others I have tried. It's true to size.
NOT WATERPROOF
I've had these bibs for a little while, and despite the odd fit (tight in the thighs and very loose on the calves) I haven't minded them and they've been good for skiing - they're pretty warm. However, they are NOT waterproof as stated in the description! Recently skied in the PNW in the rain and my entire legs were soaking wet - the rain soaked through the snowpants and everything my inside my pockets was also wet. Had some damage to my gear which is really frustrating. I don't know why these are advertised as waterproof when they aren't!!!!!! Slightly water resistant, maybe, but NOT waterproof at all.
