Disappointing selection of women’s items

Gloves are great - comfortable without getting over warmed. I am disappointed thought in the women’s selection overall. I was looking for running shoes and some winter attire, but there was a very small, limited selection for women, compared to the huge selection for men

Perfect fit with the XS

I bought these for an upcoming Finland trip. I thought they will add options for me - I can wear them under my thicker gloves for added warmth if needed for our more outdoorsy & more active days, and I can also wear them with my fingerless wool gloves if I need to use my fingers more. I don't know how they will do each way in the cold, but having options is always a good thing. My hands are 7" around and 6.5" from palm to fingertip, I'm also female so I have smaller hands - I ordered XS and couldn't have asked for a better fit. They are almost snug - but not quite, they don't have to stretch anywhere to fit all the way. They also worked great with my Galaxy phone.

Poor quality material and construction

The biggest issue is the quality of both the material and the stitching. The moment I tried the glove on the area between the thumb and forefinger tore open. I never even took them outside! Upon closer inspection, you can see the poor quality of the construction. The other issue is the "supposed" merino wool. I have many, many merino wool products and this by far is the roughest and course wool of any product I own. I am really suspect of how much "merino" wool is actually in this glove. I now have to waste my valuable time sending them back.

Great for -11 Celsius in Hokkaido Japan!

-11 Celsius in Hokkaido Japan worn in severe snow & rain without the bulk. Surprisingly warm so didn’t have the need to wear with hybrid gloves in addition to. my husband used it seamlessly with no problem while also playing Pokémon go in the cold & snow. I found a little difficulty using with my smartphone but maybe because size at tips was slightly big for me since it’s sold as men size. I purchased merino base layer for warmth & the touchscreen tip was a bonus for me. Purchased for my husband was for the touchscreen and the warmth was a bonus for him without the bulk and having to wear another layer of gloves. Fit: purchased xs for female & m for male. These are excellent for base layer gloves with warmth & without bulk.

Good gloves, almost great

These gloves keep my hands surprisingly warm. They are very flexible and comfortable. The only downside is the touch screen compatible finger pads don’t always seem to work so I’ll have to take my gloves off sometimes to get my phone to respond to touch. This is a pretty minor inconvenience to me since they keep my hands warm.

Good for 40 and up, but not cold weather running

These are listed as wool, but are only 50% wool and 50% poly. If your hands get wet, 100% wool will still keep them (somewhat) warm. The main issue with these is that the tech sections of the fingers get really cold and cause your finger tips to freeze on very cold runs. It is getting harder to find gloves without that feature, but Smart Wool has some and I will be getting those. For everyday wear they would be fine, but I got them specifically for long cold runs in the 20-30 degree range and the rubber finger ends do not insulate well at all at those temps. Thankfully REI took them back. I think I was asking more out of these than they were intended for.

Stitching comes undone

Bought these as liners under the glove. Quite thin and works well. But the stitching between the wrist area and hand came undone in one season. I was told REI warranty would not apply because it is beyond 1 year. Since this is a seasonal product, the warranty is really good for one season.

Like a glove

Great fit, allows for maximum dexterity while keeping my hands an even temperature. The clip allows me to keep the pair together if I must doff them and shove them in my pak or pocket. Versatile, light, and quite...handy.

Good liners but they pill

I wore these backpacking and have subsequently worn them as gloves in low 40 degree weather. They are lightweight, comfortable, and warm. However, they start pilling after a while; that is probably the polyester in them. They are not 100% merino wool, and it would be nicer if they were. They are made in the Philippines, for anyone concerned about country of origin. I bought a medium even though I measure 7.5, and the medium worked quite well. I will buy these again.

not so good

Bought these with excitement… it was short lived. Do they line your hands? Yes. Do they fit under gloves, yes. Do they fit properly, no. Do the tech fingers work? No. Due to the tech tip they barely went over my finger tips and when pulled on it was awkward fitting. I couldn’t hit basic buttons (pause / play) on my iPhone screen with these on. The tech part wasn’t so techy. Now, they do keep your hands toasty under other gloves. Maybe you will have better luck, but I sure didn’t and after sweating good in them I doubt they are returnable.

An upgrade from the polyester gloves!

Better than the polyester style of these liner gloves. These gloves keep my hands much warmer than the polyester style of liner gloves. A much better improvement, plus I like the color style of these gloves instead of just black polyester gloves. These gloves can be layered underneath a pair of ski gloves or something similar. The clips on the gloves help keep them together in one piece so I don't lose one or both!
