Features

  • By laminating ballistic-weave fabric with Kevlar®, Ursack has made a soft-sided container to thwart entry attempts from bears, mice, raccoons, squirrels and others
  • Secure the bag opening and tie the bag to a tree branch with the integrated 6 ft., high-tensile-strength cord
  • Bag measures 20 x 11 in. when cinched closed, holds 20 liters of food and supplies, and weighs 13.8 oz.
  • A very rough rule of thumb is that, if packed only with freeze-dried food, the AllMitey Grizzly can hold up to 9 days worth of food for 1 person
  • Ursack recommends using an odor-barrier bag as a liner (not included)
  • Certified bear-resistant by the Interagency Grizzly Bear Committee
  • The IGBC list is relied upon by many wilderness agencies but not all; wilderness restrictions may still apply depending on where you travel—check before you go

Good Product, Incorrect Weight

This is my second Ursack. The first one worked well, but I needed something for longer trips, so I up-sized. My only complaint is that the manufacturer lies about the weight. Both of the Ursacks I've owned weigh about 2 ounces more than the company claims. Yes, that's a small weight, but if you're counting ounces, it's annoying. I'm sure they know how much the bag weighs and could advertise accurately. I would still buy it again, though - I definitely prefer the Ursack over a bear cannister, where you can use it!

Confident storage

Contrary to what others have claimed, if cinched down properly, this bag will keep out small rodents, as well as huge mammals. I'm always thrilled if I'm able to use my Ursack versus having to haul around the bear vault.

Works great but overweight

As the title says, mine was 1.8 ounces over spec. I expected this as other reviewers have said the same. Otherwise, great product. Just slightly disingenuous to keep advertising that weight when it’s such a big consideration when choosing gear.
