Sizing Notes
Measurements are stated in inches unless otherwise indicated. Size chart values represent body measurements, not garment measurements. Some women's pants are available in petite and tall sizes. Typically petite sizes fit women 4'11" to 5'3". Regular sizes fit women 5'4" to 5'8". Tall sizes fit women 5'9" to 5'11".
PETITE: Generally, as compared to regular sizes, petite sizes are 2.5 inches shorter in inseam, 1 inch shorter in body length, 1.25 inches shorter in sleeve length and ¾ inch shorter in total rise.
TALL: tall sizes are 3 inches longer in inseam, 2 inches longer in body length, 2.5 inches longer in sleeve length and 1.25 inches longer in total rise.
Capri or cropped pants have an intentionally shorter inseam—reference the technical specs instead of this chart.
Inseam is measured to the floor.

Recommend this as a liner
Use for bike patrol so wear under nylon pants. As a liner, plenty warm when 40 degrees, riding 20 miles plus distances. Not sure how warm these would be without the nylon overpants. Purchased medium, I'm typically a size 8 pants. These fit well/snug. Padding is comfortable. Seem well made as these stand-up to frequent washings. Recommend these as a liner in cold weather and stand alone in warmer weather.
Get them before they’re gone!
Even if these tights were regular price, they’d be a bargain compared to pricier brands. The waistband sits at the waist and does not slip. Padding is comfortable for me. They are not thick tights so if you ride in the cold they might not be warm enough for you. They are perfect for my rides when temps are in the 50’s. These fit me well. I’m only 5’ 2” and while they would definitely work for someone taller, I’m happy they don’t bunch up at the knees or ankles.
Padded Cycling Tights
These will keep me warm this winter! They run true to size, very comfortable!
Too short and too thin
I'm pretty disappointed with these tights. First let's talk about fit: these tights are quite generous in the hips and pelvic area, but leave much to be desired for length. I'm about 5'8" and they don't even come down to my ankles - especially when pedaling. Next, the chamois: it's fine. Lastly, these aren't thermal or insulated in any way. They're good for 47-67 degree days, but they wouldn't keep me warm if it was actually cold. I probably wouldn't recommend these pants based on the fit and description.
Great Padded Tights
I've been biking for 5+ years and this is the first padded item I've ever bought. I LOVE these and will use them for any time I'm biking for more than just a casual trip in the neighborhood. So far, because it's winter, I've only tried them under heavier leggings or under rain pants, but I can't wait to try them alone for longer rides when the weather warms up. Right now it's *so* cold and the amazing thing I discovered is this: if I put these tights on, say, 10-15 minutes before I go out, my body heat warms up the padding. Then, when I sit on my cold, hard bike seat, "Ahhh!" (angels singing) it's like sitting on a warm cloud, and my butt stays warm while I ride. Magical. I would say the fit is true to size. I am always waffling between a S and M when sizing my leggings and tights, but the S fits perfect. Feels a smidge tight in the waist, but that helps keep them from sliding down. I am satisfied with the amount of stretch and space allotted for my muscular thighs and calves even while moving - some size S leggings and tights are too tight in those areas for my biker legs. I would buy these in other colors (brighter for visibility) if made available. The padding is very comfortable while riding, but I probably wouldn't walk around much with them on. It feels like a giant pad (so, not a totally unfamiliar feeling) except that my glutes knock it around when I'm walking, and that feels weird. Looks fine, though.
Works!
I’m 5’2” with muscular calves. They are perfect in length but a bit tight in the calves (but the best fitting ones I’ve found, so will keep them!). I can’t compare to other padded tights as this is my first pair but the cushioning seems thick and will keep my bum happy!
Wonderful for winter biking
Excellent cycling tights! Better than other brands at twice the price!
Great value bike pants
I was wanting a pair of long bicycle pants but was avoiding it due mainly to price since pants branded other than REI are what I had purchased in the past and I was not keen on going that route. Curious about the quality, I bought these REI brand and am not disappointed. The material and padding are comfortable and I am looking forward to many miles with them.
I like them
I found the fit to be right on the mark. The fabric has a nice feel and comfortable on a mild winter day. The only odd thing - in side by side washings with 2 other cycling pants (Terry and Pearl) the pad in the REI pants takes longer to dry. This has happened twice, not necessarily a bad thing - I just need to keep that in mind.
Shoulder Season Tight
These are a nice tight but the description is a bit misleading. The first item listed in the Features is “Heathered, “brushed-back” polyester/spandex fabric wicks moisture” I expected the inner side of the tight to have a brushed lining, they do not.
