Lightweight and toasty
I was looking for a more durable, breathable, lightweight fleece. I think I found it in this crewneck. I'm not a hooded shirt person, so I appreciate this is offered in crewneck as well. The outside jersey (as in YMCA soccer jersey) fabric seems durable enough, though I haven't tested it yet with pack straps rubbing. Definitely more durable than polartec alpha imo. I am 5'9" 150lb and I usually wear a large. I bought a large and a medium. I kept the medium. The large is baggy, long, but fit well in the shoulders. I can still fit a layer under the medium, even though it's a bit more fitted in the body (if not slightly tight in the shoulders). I can definitely tell it's warm. Got pretty toasty just trying on each size with and without a thicker baselayer. Looking forward to taking this on some adventures.
Thin but amazingly warm.
Wore it for a night run, 45 degrees and windy. Wore a windbreaker on top of it. The wind died down and I had to remove the windbreaker and push the sleeves of the Airmesh top to my elbows because I was too warm. Once I stopped running, it kept me comfortable. 2 dislikes, I normally wear a small, bought XS, it's still not. It's not form fitting, and the sleeves are too long for me (sleeves are always too long for me, but the thumb holes style make this even longer if I'm not using the thumb holes.) I like the slate blue color, but I really wish they had it in yellow in XS! (The hoodie XS was sold out.)
Warm and breathable
Surprisingly warm yet breathable. Super soft interior. Nice and long. However the hem around the hips is a little too small and makes the fabric bag out a little.
So light, so breathable, so warm
I have the hooded version, but I don't see that available anymore for women on REI's site. Just got back from a week long trip in the Andes, and boy did I love this shirt. It's feather-light, super warm, but somehow still breathable. I ended up wearing this constantly in temps from the upper 20's-60's, and I barely touched my well-known expensive name brand fleece the whole trip. Wore this under my puffer and alone. It drys really quickly and stuffs down super tiny. What more could you want in a middle layer?? I'd probably not wear it climbing as I think it could possibly get pulled on sharp rocks, though I'm tempted to nevertheless. At first blush, it's a little weird because it's so light and completely fuzzy on the inside, but this is now one of my favorite pieces of gear.
Warm layer
This is the shirt I have been looking for! I am always a bit cold when camping in the high country. With this layer added I finally was warm! It’s not the best looking top but the warmth is incredible.
My shirt don't stink...great, lightweight
I love this particular shirt. It's so breathable and wicking at the same time. Really perfect for someone who is uncomfortable wearing anything that's too heavy for hiking. Be careful though, a small branch ripped a hole in it very easily
Love this top
This is warm but light, very nice as a base layer under a jacket, very different and Medium fits great with a little bit of room which I prefer! I'm 5'8" and on the thin side, the sleeves and fit are perfect, also not super short which I love.
Surprisingly breathable
Never seen anything like this, but I like it! Cozy and warm, and runs a little big so it’s not right against your skin. Kept me warm but not stuffy, it was breathable. Only worn it twice, but so far I’m happy to have bought it.
Way too long for shorter/petite folks
I agree with all the other reviews that this shirt is super soft, comfy, and breathable...for people who are of average or taller height. Unfortunately, I am returning this because the sleeves and torso length are too long for me, even when I purchased a size small (5'2", 145lb for reference). I could probably deal with the long torso length, but the sleeves extend way beyond my fingertips, making the thumbholes awkward and useless unless the sleeve is bunched up a lot when I roll it up.
Bought myself a birthday gift!
My sister has this same shirt in another cor and said she was so pleased that her husband hit the mark! When I saw this at the store,I knew I had to have it!
