These socks are very comfortable but the quality is not there. The seam at the tip of the sock is coming undone after a couple of wears. I sit at a desk all day so it’s not like I’ve worn these on any grueling hikes.
The bottoms wore out after less than ten uses hiking. I'm old and fat, my hikes were not difficult, aggressive, or over three miles. To say I'm disappointed in a $20+ hiking sock, light or not, is a MASSIVE understatement. Will never purchase again, I suggest you do the same.
Over the years, I’ve purchased quite a few pair of these socks. For the price, they don’t last long. On average, they wear out in about a year. These are far too expensive for the quality.
Heels are wearing out way too soon vs what I’ve experienced in the past.
I first purchased some of these socks two years ago (November 2019). I've worn them regularly and they are still in great shape. They are very comfortable and very durable.
I've been using Smartwool socks since 2020 and have yet to have a pair wear out. More importantly, they're the softest most comfortable and supportive socks that I've ever owned. Quality, comfort, durability these won't let you down from the trail to the office. Smartwool has this sock thing figured out.
These socks, while not itchy at all, were too thin, somewhat abrasive, and offered no cushioning to speak of. I found it impossible to walk far in them, and I got some achilles tendon issues from wearing them. They would be fine for someone who had no foot issues, but overall, can't recommend.
These socks are good but the fit is a little loose. I wear an 11 and that’s supposedly the upper limit for medium but still a little loose. Not a real breaker though. They don’t bunch around my toes so they work just fine.
Chose lighter weight than usual, and paired with silk sock liners, gave a great fit in my boots. No blisters on my Portuguese Camino de Santiago.
Comfortable, cool in summer and lightweight. These Smartwool socks work well for light hiking, walking for exercise or just working in the yard.
