Measurements are stated in inches unless otherwise indicated. Size chart values represent body measurements, not garment measurements.
SHORT: Some pants are available in short sizes, which generally means an inseam that is 2.5 inches shorter than regular sizes.
TALL: Some pants, shirts, jackets and parkas are available in tall sizes, which generally means an inseam that is 3 inches longer and a rise that is 1 inch longer, a shirt or jacket body that is 2 inches longer, a parka body that is 2.5 inches longer and sleeves that are 2.5 inches longer than regular sizes.
Capri or cropped pants have an intentionally shorter inseam—reference the technical specs instead of this chart.
Inseam is measured to the floor.

As others mentioned, this vest is a little flimsy on insulation and durability. That said, it isn't completely useless and does offer some insulating utility--just don't expect too much and you won't be disappointed. It runs a bit large. I've worn it both over and under other layers, considered returning, but have decided to keep it. It is extremely light and compressible--a good alternative when you don't need a warmer vest such as down. Throw it in a pack and you don't even know it is there. I do wish there were other color options besides just black and red. I'm still struggling with the cost, not sure it is worth the $70 sale price.
I was looking for something stylish and versatile for the temperature swings in spring/fall. The REI rep showed me a variety of vests, but by far this one has the best features and value. It is now a constant companion. I even bought one for my lady friend. My only issue/annoyance is that the bottom of the vest is tight (I'm a 34W) and every time I sit down, the bottom of the zipper separates. The waist line of the vest needs an elastic insert on each side to eliminate this problem. I don't know how the vest designer missed this.
From the backwoods to the busy city streets, this vest is well insulated for thought chilly days. It’s completely lightweight and packable. It packs down into the side pocket, the size of a Nalgen bottle. It weighs next to nothing making it easy to carry on a D ring. Durability is outstanding for such a thin vest. I have brushed up against beefy branches with foliage and have found no scratches. On cold morning while cycling it has kept my core warm making it a good choice for high intensity sports. It’s great to wear when hiking due to its effectiveness to keep you warm and let your body breath letting in airflow. The style on this vest make it so versitile that it could be worn out casually or even to work. The fit is nice and comfortable with a loose profile but not too much. The length is perfect as it ends just below the waist line. Washing this vest is simple, if you have ever washed a down jacket its the same concept. I definitely would recommend this vest for those looking for a lightweight option that would provide insulation for chilly days.
Just finished 72 miles on High Sierra Trail with this as part of my clothes package. The vest performed well and very versatile. On similar treks I appreciate and utilize layering system to deal with temperature swings. Vest was extremely warm and comfortable. Great on early cold morning starts keeping me warm but not over-heating. Perfect to go over light base layer for both hiking and as part of sleep system. As a active sleeper really appreciated the vest concept with cold evenings. Taking this on trek to Nepal in November with confidence.
Perfect, thin synthetic fill not bulky down, great for areobic activities like c-country sking, 4 pockets, cuts the wind nicely with multiple nylon layers one more in front than back, well thought out, collar zips up high, fits great slim and long, home run for me at least!
This is REI's low-profile packable Primaloft vest. It used to be called the "Revelcloud." I've haven't found a better vest that suits everyday use and backpacking better. Its really packable, requires no special treatment, and will stand up to constant abuse. This new "Flash" model moves the baffles to the interior, but the cut and feature-set remain the same as the old classic Revelcloud.
I bought this vest for layering during winter cycling in temperatures at or above 35*F. It is light, not bulky and very well made. The two large zippered pockets are a plus. A good deal at the sale price, about $35. It was made in Vietnam of almost 100% recycled materials. The blue color is nice. I'm 5'9" 170 lbs, the Medium fits perfect. Happy with purchase !
I was delighted to find the REI brand refreshed and available once again. This vest is a perfect fit - large enough for a fleece layer underneath but not oversized. I had been disappointed in what, to me, was the downfall of the REI brand of goods over the past decade or so. As a 50+ year member of the co-op, I'd known the brand for fitness for use, designed by outdoor people for outdoor people, good quality and good value. To me, this flash vest represents the best of the REI brand.
This vest is a little light but quite suitable for somewhat chilly weather in the mid 50s to 60s. It’s not so warm that you’re entirely shielded from the elements but is overall fit for purpose here in the Bay Area.
I’ve been waiting for REI to bring a vest like this back. Light and easy. Not so expensive that I feel bad about giving it a workout. I still have a similar vest that must be 10 or 12 years old. It all taped together and still in use weekly. The new one could have a beefier zipper but this will work. Keep offering these please:)
