Shorter and wider
Swing and miss. I've been waiting to replace my original 2020 Airshed Pro, which is one of my favorite and most-used pieces of gear. But the color-block styles of the past few seasons meant I put it off. Perfect for high-output running, mountain biking, and XC skiing on cool mornings (low-mid 40s over a short-sleeved baselayer) the Airshed Pro has just enough wind protection to keep the breeze out but not so much that it gets clammy. The huge zip makes dumping heat and taking off over a hat or helmet easy, and the stretchy arms actually stay up when pulled up the forearm. It also packs down tiny so is easy to stow once the day warms up. But the new version (comparing medium to medium) is somehow worse in just about every direction: wider through the body by a massive 1 1/2in (no longer anything like "fitted"), shorter through the torso (a little under 1in) and the sleeves are at least 3/4in shorter. At least the front ziper is about an inch deeper, I guess, and the stuff pocket is on the chest rather than the back of the hood. Really disappointed.
Base layer for high output in shoulder seasons
LOVE this layer, pretty much wear this as my base layer year round in the PNW for high output activities. Perfect for trail running in shoulder seasons. I ski tour in this and it's usually the only thing I'm wearing on the uphill. I run hot so the ability to open up the front zipper and roll up the sleeves helps keep me cool and then if I get to a windy ridge I can roll them down, zip the front, and put on the hood for more protection. This jacket is extremely thin and lightweight, more of a shirt and I use it like a sun hoody for Fall, winter, and spring. Because it is so thin, it drys off very quickly especially if there is a breeze.
great running piece slim fit
I’ve been using this for late winter / spring running for about a month now. It’s great paired with a nano light hybrid jacket on colder days or own it’s own. Hood fits great. Easy to roll sleeves up. It is slim fit in the chest. I size up to XL for an easier fit.
Runs small, otherwise an awesome top.
Runs small. I'm consistently a size L in Patagonia tops. I had to exchange for an XL, something I've never had to do with any brand, which is why I subtracted a star. That said, the Airshed is an awesome top to have in my kit. April and May in MT can be unpredictable and I pulled the Airshed out of my pack many times during runs and bike rides in the higher elevations. This might replace my Houdini as my always-carry piece. It's also light weight and stashes into the chest pocket. It hardly takes up any space when it's tucked away. Overall I'm very happy with this pullover, minus the sizing.
Buy a size up.
Great well fitting light jacket for running, hiking, and wearing around town. I usually wear a small, but bought a medium. This jacket WILL shrink after one wash. Luckily, it shrunk to the perfect size.
Incredible running layer, size up
Really versatile and practical running layer. Works great down into the teens with a solid base layer. Ultra packable so when I overheat I can throw it in my pocket. Runs small though so unless you're on the bottom end of your size, I'd size up.
My new go to, cool morning, running pullover.
A great running top that I came across by chance. I have a couple of Patagonia Houdini jackets that I really love but, my Airshed pullover is my new go to running jacket. Super lightweight, fitted, with flexible fabric sleeves from the elbow down. Provides just enough warmth on cool morning runs but is breathable enough to continue to wear after I’ve warmed up. Would recommend and buy again.
Perfect for the summit
Perfect for hitting the summit. It's a lightweight piece of equipment that kills wind. I love the lose fit because I can layer underneath. It weighs about as much as a clif bar. Its not casual wear.
Feels great needs more flexibility.
I am a medium small I made the mistake of getting small. The waist material is so inflexible it’s hard to get it on and off over my upper back and shoulders. I hate returns so I’ll just deal with the process of getting it on and off and like the material otherwise.
A little bit smaller than expected
Usually I buy patagonia with M size, but this one is smaller, but still ok for me and looks like fitted, might consider to get L size next time
