I was looking forward to adding another 1/2 zipper smartwool top. I plan to return it for the following reasons: 1. Much less use of smartwool dropping from 100% wool in old one to 52% in current red zipper top. 2. The old version was made in Vietnam and this one is made in India. So manufacturing processes and use of stretch are very different in products. I wash older one In the machine and looks great. The new version of knit looks like it will snag. I wore a M in old one and I would have to try a Xl if o wanted it to fit., it is very long which is ok. I am not a skier but I live in a cold climate. I like smart wool tops for general indoor everyday winter use as first layer.
Will return because the top is great for hiking, but the quality is so poor. It has multiple pulls after one use. Very disappointing. Beautiful color and design. Poor quality material.
This top looks and feels great BUT I noticed a tiny snag that it came with which I was willing to overlook because I was already back home, however, it has snagged like crazy with very little wear and only one wash. I will be returning it for the regular weave smartwool top.
Great material and look! I like a loose fit, the medium is perfect!
Runs smaller thank other smartwool items, go up a size
Without bulk, this piece did a fabulous job of keeping me warm while backpacking in 12 degree weather. I layered it over the REI wool base layer and it was a perfect combo. It’s also very attractive, but function was my first priority in buying it. The snug fit is not too tight but tight enough to keep out the cold.
One of the best fitting pieces i own. Im tsll, so i do spprecuate the lenght of sleeves and the overall fit. Colors are beautiful..such a versatile piece from hike yo having a coffee in town!
I love this layer - the color way is so nice and it’s a perfect base layer under a jacket or vest, cute enough to wear without a layer when indoors. Smartwool makes some amazing, quality clothing and this is no exception. I have it in black as well and wear it constantly through winter.
I've owned six or so Smartwool shirts like this over the years and while I adore the color and patterns it snags easily- too easily for the cost. I'm so disappointed in this product I'll most likely send it back:(
Good quality, keeps you warm and dry. After a few washes, the outside does tend to pile; thus 4 stars
