Smartwool  Liner Gloves

I am getting ready to purchase my second pair of these liner gloves that depending on the temperature, I can wear alone or under my mittens. I'm buying a second pair because when it's really cold, and my hands have sweated (or I've pulled the mittens off one time to many) I need to change to a dry pair. I can even tap my iWatch or phone screens and have them open/function. One thing I recently learned from a REI associate, is that if I'm looking for colder temperature gloves, not just wind resistant gloves, that you need a totally different glove. It may be useful to go to the store and speak with an associate.

The addition of polyester to Smartwool's liner gloves has made them less flexible and warm than their previous all-wool liners. Maybe they are more durable, but they are difficult to flex and hard to fit under other gloves or mittens.

I've had a pair of these for several years and brought them on a month-long winter trip to Massachusetts. I was so disappointed when I lost one, so I immediately ordered another pair that I could pick up locally. I may have originally had size XS because the new small pair is a little too large for my hands. These are liner gloves, so unless the weather is mild, I wear them under a pair of mittens or water-resistant gloves. What I like best about them is that I don't have to take them off to use the touch screen on my phone. I've never been successful with the high-tech gloves, so this is my biggest rave about these liners.

I carried these gloves for about the last 1,000 miles of my AT thru hike- they kept my hands warm even when it was wet out & the touchscreen feature actually does work. I'd recommend these to anyone.

These work well for what I need them for. As a Raynaud’s sufferer my hands are almost always cold. I wear the gloves indoors, and expect to do so year round. I went with Medium and they are a little too long in the fingers (I’m a woman, 5’8” tall and would normally wear a women’s large), but they are good enough. Index fingers and thumbs are touch-screen friendly - no problems with this.

My only complaint is that I have to do a return now to get the right size. I followed the instructions in the fit guide and measured my hand exactly as instructed and picked the size according to the posted chart, but they are definitely too small and tight fitting. I don't mean snug, like a liner glove should be, I mean too tight so that there's not enough room for my hand. Otherwis seems like a very good product, and that's the only reason I gave it one star.

So great that they are wool and they really do work with electronics. Beats the frustration of having to take off your gloves when it’s really cold and you need to use a cellphone or…(Or we could just use real maps, compasses and grit. Lol)

Very nice but too big, so I had to return them. I guess they are men’s sizes, which wasn’t clear to me, since I had filtered my search for women’s clothing.

These are my go-to gloves all winter long. I wear them as liners under ski mitts. As a single layer, they’re warmer than lots of work gloves and casual wear gloves. They’re thin and flexible, which makes them fit great, they’re warm and they look good. What more do want?

My original plan was to use these for hiking but they have become part of my everyday wear. They fit well under mittens during subfreezing hikes and walks also works well on days when the hikes start out cool and I need a little coverage. Also works well as everyday wear. Only problem is they roll up well into a small ball and I keep misplacing them. My fault. They wash well and look like new once dried.
