Not very universal
Nice material and build Quality but runs small for a universal fit hat. Wish they had different sizes as this hat does not fully cover my ears which is the main reason I wear a hat when running in the winter.
The item sent is not as depicted in the photo
I was a little disappointed because the item I received has different styling to the one pictured. I particularly liked the one in the picture because a friend bought this hat and I wanted the same. I'm not sure if it's because SmartWool changed the design and the picture hasn't been updated. I preferred the styling as pictured but the one I received lacks the colors and the bigger logo. Despite that, the functionality of this beanie is awesome! It is very lightweight but very warm. I've been wearing it all day today in the recent cold wet weather we are having here.
Great lightweight wool beanie
I was looking for a lightweight beanie for cool/cold weather running, and this is perfect. I've tried other brands and materials and they often fit my somewhat large head like a swim cap, or they get super hot and sweaty after the first mile. This one fits the bill perfectly. It is super comfy and the weight is great for active use outdoors. I'd highly recommend it for runners and hikers.
Great little hat
I use this hat constantly. It fits under my bike helmet in the winter, and it's so lightweight I toss it in my pocket just in case I get chilly. It's not ideal for sitting still in really cold environments, but otherwise it's super useful. the holes for inserting the arms of your glasses are a nice little bonus. I have a fairly robust size 7 3/4 melon and this thing fits fine. Recommended.

Beanie for under ski helmet
Works great with a ski helmet because it comes down lower in the back to help cover your neck. The slits on each side for sunglasses is also very handy. Keeps your head warm, lightweight and thin enough to put a ski helmet on easily.
The go to Smartwool Workout Beanie
I love the SmartWool products - and this head beanie is perfect for hiking, cycling and any other outdoor activity. Very light, hardly aware I am wearing it but keeps my head warm. Even has slots to hold my sunglasses atop my head.
Fits in all situations
Perfect thickness to fit under a helmet or rain hat or on its own. Not bulky. I’m bald so it’s important to fit well and retain heat which it does very well.
Noggin warming
A great hat for highly aerobic activities. Keeps the head warm even when damp from perspiration!
