[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my newest addition to my liners. I have had three for several years and use them often when travelling. None have worn out, I just like to have multiples around for visitors or in case of loss. They are a great wrap on airplanes, great for sleeping in or under in airports and at destinations and excellent liners for sleeping bags. I purchased this one for an upcoming trip to Laos. I only with the storage bags were still made like a little stuff sack. They were much easier to store the liner, just shove it in - the zipper storage, while it looks nice, is more difficult to get the liner in and behaving while zipping up.
I need a silk liner for my hike through France (Via Podiensis) next spring. Every one recommends a slik liner, since the gites provide blankets. This is the top-reviewed liner, so I ordered it. it's super light-weight, which I will need, since I'm backpacking across Southwest France. I slept in it for three nights, and it was terrific!
I've had this liner a few months. It's easy to wash. It helps keep my down sleeping bag clean, which is great because the sleeping bag is hard to wash. The liner is lightweight and fits in my sleeping bag stuff sack along with my sleeping bag. The liner feels delicate and I'm constantly aware of trying not to rip it. So far, it has held up. No snags or rips. No stitches coming undone. The stretchy panels are nice too, even though the stretch panel material seems like it will unravel sooner, I think the stretch actually helps keep the overall sleeping bag liner from ripping since silk doesn't really stretch.
A fantastic product. I hesitated to purchase the silk liner due to the price and fear it would feel claustrophobic. But it was a life saver! I took it to India when India was still fairly hot. I slept in it rather than a sleeping bag or blankets. I loved the feel if silk and the stretchy edge pieces let you move around comfortably. It was never too hot. It fits into such a small space in your backpack or suitcase. It washes up by hand or washing machine gently. I dried it in a dryer and on a line. It gets a bit wrinkly but I love it.
I bought two of them for our TMB hiking trip this summer. We used it in the refuges. It is very light and very comfortable. No mater the room is hot or cold, you’ll feel good to sleep in it. They are the most appreciated items in the trip!
I'm literally getting another. The best. Super lightweight very warm and self cleaning bc it's silk. Easy to dry fast outside and so easy to hike with. I'm getting another
For 26 years, forty+ days each summer tent camping and guiding wilderness rafting/fly fishing expeditions here in Alaska; the Sea To Summit silk sleeping bag liner is my go to for reasons that have already been mentioned by scores of people in their reviews. I've just replaced my most recent Silk Traveller after 5+ years, and 200+ nights, of faithful service. The liner has probably been machine washed and dried 30 or so times.. I prefer a rectangular sleeping bag because I don't like to be confined; the Travel liner (or the mummy version) is the ultimate: ease of entry, keeping sleeping bag and pillow clean, temperature control, and...comfort. Imagine sleeping in silk sheets...in the wilderness. It's good.
This liner is very comfortable and roomy enough to get in and out of easily through the night, which is great for a middle-aged woman with hot flashes:). I really like the built in pillow holder, which helped my travel pillow to stay in place. I used it for the first time last week during my 3-night stay in a cabin; but I also plan on using it on my summer backpacking trips with a lightweight down blanket. I like the idea of being able to use it as somewhat of a protective measure as well during this pandemic. It just helps give me peace of mind.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I haven't tested this yet in travels. but on my bed, it's gonna work great! the rip stop pattern in the weave gives it strength and stability. The size is generous and the stretchy edges are what sold me on the sea to summit model bc i am a side sleeper that likes to flip sides without having to wake up, so the stretchy sides will make that possible without me getting tangled up in it, or trying to be careful so as not to put stress on the stitches. I bought this for multi country travels. so none of the categories (hiking, paddling ect, fit )
I have the blue mummy-style and there's plenty of length for my 5'3" body. The foot area is generous and the stretchy side panels are a nice touch. The fabric lets a lot of light through but the silk is sturdy. It seemed impossible that it would fit back into the stuff sack but it did with no effort at all. The only tricky part was trying to avoid the silk while zipping up the sack - I'm not sure if it would snag it but I didn't want to take that chance. Overall, very pleased with this liner.
