Handle is a design flaw.
I really wanted to love this thing, given that it's made from recycled plastic and an absolute perfect fit for my backseat. However, one end of the handle pops off every time I try to carry the cooler more than 10 steps. I chatted with Igloo and their response was that it was too full and the weight was making the handle come off. The cooler has never been more than 75% full. Who buys a cooler only to fill it halfway? I realize this is a cheaper cooler, but being unable to carry it is poor design and a fatal flaw in my opinion. Too bad; a better handle would have made this cooler amazing. I will be returning it.
Perfect size for a picnic or short trip
I've ended up using this cooler a lot more than I expected when I bought it. Although it's too small for long camping trips, it's perfect for a group picnic or short camping trips when you aren't bringing a lot of items that need to be cooled. I love having this as an option rather than having to pack my larger cooler full of ice for just a few things. I'm about to take it on a three day camping trip on Catalina island and it will be just right for some fruit, veggies, eggs, and milk to supplement my dry goods for cooking and a couple of restaurant meals. Does a pretty good job of staying cold for a few days. I do wish it had a drain plug, but that's really the only thing I'd change.
Disappointing...
The cooler looks great but functions very poorly. If you plan on keeping it stationary for its entire life this is the cooler for you. In reality, the handle pops off just carrying it from the kitchen to the car. Let alone try getting it up a hill to your campsite. What's the point in loading up your cooler for a weekend in the woods if you can't carry it anywhere? The price is alluring but I would look for something with a more robust handle if you plan on moving it around.
Returning this
I wanted to love this cooler because it is made of recycled materials, the price was right, and it fits perfectly in the cab of my truck. Unfortunately like many other reviewers here, with even a moderate amount of weight in the cooler the handle pops off. This would be a great deal if they can correct this design flaw, but I will be returning this for something more durable.
Sturdy and works great
I’m a long haul truck driver so I needed a cooler for drinks and food that needs refrigeration. I didn’t want a large chest but I needed something that would hold 2 L bottles. This fit the bill. I use it daily now for about a month at this point. I’m generally on the road for six or seven days and I only have to replace the ice once after starting the trip. So essentially I’m getting three days of ice and the fourth day is mostly water with ice floating in it. That still works for me. I’ve seen some say the handle Is weak but I’ve had absolutely no issues. Somebody said there was no seal but the fit is so tight that no seal is needed. Like I said, I’m getting four days out of two bags of ice. I can’t recommend this cooler enough. I’ve been carrying coolers on my truck for over 30 years and this one is the best I’ve had so far.
Good for day trips, not good for camping
This cooler would be good for day trips or doing things around the city, but was not good for a 2-day camping trip. The first day everything stayed cool (I also pre-chilled the cooler for best results), but by the second day in the desert it was not cold anymore. Will keep it around for day trips, but I'll need a cooler with better insulation for multiple day trips!
useless in texas
this thing may work great in other parts of the country/world, but in a Texas summer this thing can't hold a bag of ice for longer than a few hours outside in the Texas heat.
Lid will not close fully
Sadly the lid doesn't fully close. It clicks down and then pops back up slightly, so it's open just a little bit. I'm returning it.
Perfect Beach Cooler
Great cooler for the beach! Held 36 bagels on the way to OBX. (NJ residents understand why you’d bring bagels). Had a beach house with 20 adults, and this cooler was easy to pack, and carry, and held lots of cold drinks. Will probably pull out for next tornado or hurricane. Not a 5 day cooler, but really reasonably priced.
Strong cooler for weekend
Strong, simple, rigid design. Ideal as spare seat. Perfect for two people for a weekend, or a family for a day out. Coolers are getting very trendy and expensive. This is neither - expecting years of use.
