I love Gregory packs. This Nano is a great pack for those short, local hikes, tourist trap hikes and other similar situations where gear isn't necessary but you just want some of your things. It's not a pack for bulky items as it is quite narrow. But if you want a durable grab and go, something you can toss around and be a little more carefree with then this is a great buy. I would give it five stars but I was slightly surprised by the almost "kids school backpack" quality of the straps. They function but that's about it. To be frank, they feel cheap and look cheaper. At the price point and the category this pack is in, I get why the straps are what they are but that doesn't mean I have to like it. With that said, I still love this pack for what it is and would purchase this again.
This bag is perfect for so many different scenarios. It's a great hiking bag as it's small and light and set up for a bladder while still giving you enough space for everything else. It's a great travel and day bag with plenty of room to pack several layers and whatnot and it's small and can be stored under a seat in a plane with plenty of foot room. I especially love the opening mechanism, it's super quick and you can use the bag's weight to pull itself open when you pull on the strap.
Good for daytrip for hiking or trail running. It is light and durable, small but enough space to include all nessary item. I add a belt at the button rings for running. I will go to trekking with it for a summit pack when I can fly to Taiwan. I also use it everyday to carry my notebook to company.
This is a great pack for short hikes (2-3 miles). I am able to fit a couple of water bottles or a 2L bladder in it with room for a light jacket and a couple of snacks. It’s also light and packs down really well.
Great versatile pack! I use it for 5-6 miles day hikes and 6-17miles mountain bike rides. Small enough to carry essentials, snacks, 3 water bottles and a light jacket.
I bought this to replace the one that came with my Paragon 58. It's my daily carrier, and I love it. Thank you.
We purchased these to go with hydro-reservoirs we bought a year earlier. They were used by an 11- and 13-year-old for small hikes and a canoeing trip. The size of the pack was perfect for holding the water, some snacks, and a poncho. The bags themselves were well made. The only thing that holds the reservoir in place is the clip; there is no mesh pouch or strap to keep it from shifting (which wasn't a problem for us this year, but I can see the potential for problems on a more robust hike or biking trip.
Whether you're are looking for a super lightweight, backpack to take on a mellow day hike or the perfect laptop, notebook, and water bottle (or 2) everyday pack for whatever your Monday - Friday looks like, the Nano 14 has you covered. I love the drawstring for quick stash and go purposes and the additional small pocket ontop for my wallet, car keys etc. Overall, the nano 14 is a great featherlight pack that performs exceptionally for it's intended use.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We recently purchased three Nano 14 packs to replace our old worn out ones. We love them. We use them for camping, kayaking and biking and put them in our large backpacks when we go over-night hiking. They are the perfect size for a day trip or carrying extra supplies when a large packpack is too big plus they fit in our large backpacks for multi-day trips. We would be lost without them.
I LOVE this bag! My husband brought it on our 3-week backpacking trip across Portugal and it was perfect for day adventures. It fit two water bottles, an extra layer, and our small essentials (snacks, wallet, keys, SPF). I plan on bringing it on an upcoming backpacking trip to the Grand Canyon to use as a day pack because it also fits my camera gear perfectly!
