Great alternative to Osprey Porter

Tried several travel bags (Osprey Porter 46 and Fairview 40, Gregory Tribute 40) and ended up keeping this one. It had the larger capacity of the Porter with the harness comfort of the Fairview (I loved the Porter design but for some reason didn’t transfer the weight to the hip belt on me), and was half the price of the others! Well-made, just the right amount of organization, larger capacity, and a harness/hip belt design that effectively transfers weight to the hips to make for a comfortable carry - my new one-bag travel bag!

Great for 2 weeks abroad!

I just returned from two weeks in Guatemala, and this bag was perfect! I used packing cubes to keep my things organized and left enough space on the way there that I'd have room to bring goodies back. Two weeks worth of clothes, travel towel, down jacket and all toiletries fit well, with plenty of room to spare. It was comfortable as a backpack, and easy to carry as a duffel. the backpack straps and hip belt tucked away easily when storing in the overhead bin as carry on. The color was great when I checked the bag on the way home - easy to find on the carousel!

Proxy 45- Ultimate Travel Bag for Minimalists

This bag was exactly what I was looking for when I got hired to guide a cycling group in Central Europe on a bike and boat tour. Being responsible for other people and knowing I didn't want the hassle of dragging a rolling carry-on down cobblestone streets and in/out of trains and planes- this bag was perfect. Rugged constructed as expected from a backpacking giant- the Proxy has lasted over a year with no signs of wear and tear. Strong zippers and realistic padded waist band and straps make this perfect for those adventurers that want to go from the plane or train directly to wandering the streets of your next destination!

Great midsized bag!

As someone who prefers backpack luggage vs roller this pack is very comfortable and the space it offers works well. I'm thinking about ordering the 65 litre for when I need a checked bag. I have 4 different packs from this brand and they are all holding well after years of use. Highly recommend!

Great multi-purpose pack that will last a long tim

I really love this backpack. What drew my attention in the description was that it is carryon-sized with airline regulations in mind, so good for air travel. But in practice, it is also great for outdoor trips such as weekend backpacking. I just took it on a weekend camping trip to a state park with hike-in campsites, and it was perfect to carry a couple days worth of gear and clothes The engineering and design is really thoughtful: a main compartment for clothes, a separate zipped section beneath the main compartment for muddy shoes or whatever, a separate front section with different pockets to organize small items (and room for a laptop when travelling for work) and an amazing number of extra side straps and buckles to add on jackets, bedroll, whatever. The construction is solid and sturdy, and the shoulder straps and waist straps are both strong and comfortable. i am really pleased!

perfection!

I bought this for a 2 week Europe trip (ireland, england, italy). Took it on planes, trains, buses, and it was perfection. Fit as a carry-on on all my flights (none of the airline employees ever actually measured it, but it fit in all the overhead bins perfectly). Spacious enough to pack all my clothes, toiletries, hair tools, etc and extra room to bring back some goodies. Love the compartments, and how it opens up completely like a suitcase. I felt safe that no one would be able to pick-pocket anything out if it while it was on my back since it has the compression clips over the zipper. The hip belts were a life saver since it was quiet heavy when full. Also love the option to stuff away the straps in order to check it in on flights if needed. Very happy with this purchase!

Perfect size for a long weekend or even a week!

I just got this pack, but I'm so impressed! This might be the perfect travel pack. Even when we car travel (as we often do) I'm always packing multiple bags, but this one has just enough room for everything for a long weekend or even a week if you are a light packer plus dedicated space for my laptop, iPad and all the things without being massive and taking up too much room in the trunk of our little car. I could see it being perfect for airplane travel as well!

Color not like in the picture

I just got the backpack yesterday, and what I can say is that the color is nothing like in the picture. In reality, it is a very dark forest green color. Also, with length of 23.5," this is not a carry-on bag for most of the airlines. Overall, the backpack looks sturdy. I wish there would be an external pocket for a water bottle and the padding on the hip belt a bit better.
