Tested by Accident, Proven by Strength

First off let me say I NEVER take the time to write reviews. My daughter's book bag was literally ran over by car(s) and none of her electronics were damaged! Best bag EVER! So thankful for this bag.

I like my Backpack.

This backpack has a lot of space and lots of compartments. I prefer Borealis over Jester because of the more number of pockets. Laptop fits well in this backpack. This backpack is suitable for Middle school to College kids. Water bottle pocket is well designed and can be tightened with the elastic strings. Font pocket has many sub-pockets to keep school/college stationary. The bag has 4 pockets two of them being the main. The other two pockets still have lots of space. They both have enough storage for supplies such as markers, scissors etc.

I would not buy again

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The backpack looks wonderful, it's very aesthetically pleasing. However I am a pre-K teacher and a college student who planned to use to to carry all of my materials to and from both schools. It doesn't seem to have enough space. I also planned to use this as a carry on bag on for planned trips. However the straps are very stiff with little to no padding. Very disappointing.

Save your money

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this backpack because my last North Face backpack lasted me a WHILE (I upgraded cause the bottle holder pockets had a hole in it. I bought this backpack, and I regret it. The side pickets don't hold anything. My 32 fl oz watter bottle always slips out. The back pack started ripping from one of the zippers. I pulled the cord on the bottle holder pocket to tighten it so the bottle won't fall out, the cord snapped and peeled. Also for some context, I had this bag only for 3 months. My last one that lasted way longer, I had for 4 years. Do yourself a favor, save your money and find a better quality backpack. NOT. WORTH. IT.

Made to Last!

I’ve had my Borealis for 23 years! I purchased it my freshman year of college (Y2K), carried it all 4 years plus graduate school and have used it as a carryon for trips ever since. My (now 19yo) son even carried it a little bit in middle school! It’s literally still a great backpack. I’m actually on right now to buy another; not because anything is wrong with the one I have but because laptop pockets didn’t exist 20+ years ago so I decided it’s finally time to upgrade. I was reading the current reviews before purchasing and decided to leave one of my own. You won’t regret buying this backpack!

Disappointed by the lack of durability

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The shoulder straps failed after about nine months. Got a replacement, and now the shoulder straps are failing after just a couple of months. Disappointed. I expected better from The North Face.

Super disappointing

I use this as my backpack for school, work, and travel. After a month, I noticed that one of the rings securing the elastic bungee cord had come off. Now after about 4 months, I noticed a hole in the space behind the outermost pocket and the middle compartment. Another review commented that the bag is very top heavy and falls over when you set it down, and I second that statement. The only redeeming quality for me is that I love the color. Ultimately super disappointing as my previous North Face backpack lasted 10 years before needing to be replaced.

Do not buy full price, only buy on sale

Fell apart really easily and the top/front pocket is a pain to use when it's full and the main body pocket is empty. It says down and the backpack won't stay upright. The backpack itself looks nice and feels nice, but the quality is incredibly low, especially if bought for the full price of $115!! I had one of the tightening lines around the water bottle holders break from normal use and I have a tear in the material in the other water bottle holder that allows rain to go straight into the main body pocket. Not worth the price at all.

Terrible strap quality

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am a college student and received this bag as a recent Christmas gift. Within the first two weeks of the semester, both straps began to tear from the bag. I was distraught because I do not carry extraneous loads daily. For a product of this price, I expect it to last longer than 2 weeks. I was also told when purchasing that there is little to no difference between the women's and men's bags. THAT IS FALSE. If you have a large chest, the straps on this bag do not contour and will pinch your arms. I'm upset that I have to sacrifice the color and spacious capacity I wanted in the men's bag for the comfort of the women's bag.
