The North Face  Base Camp Duffel - X-Large

So glad I bought this North Face Base Camp Duffel. I toyed with using a duffel I already owned, but it never would have stood up to what this duffel had to endure. Multiple trips stacked atop Jeeps in all kinds of weather, several days tied down on a mule, rain, snow, and blistering sun . . . no, scratch that, not much sun at all. It returned home still in usable condition, only leaked a small amount on a rainy day when the wrangler tied it on in such a way that the zipper was exposed. It's more than you need for casual travel, but if you're going out back of beyond, this is your duffel.

The straps of this bag got caught somewhere on the conveyer belts during transit at the airport. It came bag to me destroyed. If you buy this bag, don't use as a checked bag, but it's fine elsewhere. I'm very disappointed that it makes for a bad travel bag.

Holds all car camping gear, tent, sleeping, cooking, food, personal items. Great Duffel, water proof and protected zippers

Nice bag to haul too much stuff with you. Good quality. High price for a duffel bag. I just wish North Face was in bigger letters so everybody could know how much money I spent on it. Lol

Sturdy, reliable, water and snow proof ( for few hours). Took heavy beating from the porters and when carried by the donkeys. The bag experienced extremely cold nights -15degC to intensely sunny days during 14 day trek on Boltoro glacier.

This bag has been to 4 continents with me. I’ve had it on my back on hikes through eastern sierras. It’s been on the roof of the truck in Africa with minimal moisture to contents. Make sure the zipper is up the flaps help keep out water.

I love the big size and the bright yellow color, but unfortunately it didnt withstand the baggage handlers at the airport and has at least 1 scuff that is almost all the way through the top of the bag. Sad since I JUST bought it.

A couple of friends of mine swear by this bag so I gave it a shot ahead of a big trip. Solid construction and well thought out design. Easy assess and handy backpack straps. Will have to see how it holds up through the airport baggage handling part of things as it looks to have taken some hits on my trip, but no rips or tears yet.

This bag is large and very sturdy. Zipper was l little difficult to use; some zipper wax helped. While not water proof, it handles weather well. Was a two person job to lift a filled container.

never realized when i was packing me and my family's clothes this weekend that the duffel would literally save it all from getting wet! already loved the size, i'd been eyeing this bag for 4-5 years for photo shoots/extra outfits. anyways a seal on our trunk let a downpour through and we had 3" of rainwater at the bottom of the trunk. nothing got wet!
