Ventilation is great, better than the Troy Lee design A2. I live in Arizona, keeping cool is key. The helmets not very friendly with most sunglasses I've tried. Meaning the helmet puts lots of pressure against the top of your ear where the sunglass rest. Other than that great helmet.
I loved my POC Tectal Race SPIN for the last couple of years, and I was looking forward to this helmet as it has a few improved safety features (a more visible AVIP color option, a MIPS that isn't hot and is better than SPIN, breakaway visor, lower protection in the front and back, and an e-bike safety test certification). However, the Kortal Race MIPS runs smaller than the Tectal Race SPIN, and I wear the largest size already, so it just won't fit. My Tectal Race SPIN in the same size (XL-XXL) has room to spare inside. POC, please make a bigger size of the Kortal Race SPIN (or just make it as big as the Tectal Race SPIN).
I LOVE this helmet. It fits great (my head is very oval-shaped), I never have to adjust it during a ride, it ventilates super well, and it looks awesome. My favorite feature about this helmet is the concealed MIPS system; I’ve had a ton of issues in the past with the yellow knobby bits on MIPS helmets ripping out my hair when taking the helmet off, and that problem is definitely solved with this system. Highly recommend!
This helmet is incredible!!! I usually buy helmets in the $100-$150 price range, but the extra I paid for this one was well worth it. My previous helmet was a Mavic Crossride SL Elite, which I bought for $100 about 2 years ago (I think it is cheaper now), and that one weighs only 265 grams. I was concerned that this helmet would feel heavy and clunky at 470 grams, but to my surprise it doesn’t at all. I think the way the weight of the helmet is distributed on one’s head really reduces how heavy it feels. This makes it super comfortable. It is also surprisingly airy; I would say it gets as much airflow as my cross country helmet if not more. With the weight penalty largely negated, the increased airflow, and the extra protection it provides this helmet is a no brainer. If you don’t need a helmet ASAP I suggest you save a few bucks and wait to buy this one when you are ready.
My second Poc, have the Tectal spin also. Like this helemet as well. Fits good and is comfortable.
Really good helmet. Fits snug and has tons of adjustability. Really like that the visor snaps off in crashes and can be put back on so easily. A little pricey but why go cheap when it's your brain on the line!
I was a little skeptical on the price, but if you are looking for quality this is definitely the helmet you want. So happy with this helmet. It is super comfortable, and I feel so much safer on the trails. I love the feature that connects to the app incase of an emergency. Looks and feels great, and I am very happy with this purchase.
Really like this helmet, POC is expensive but you can tell by the quality of manufacturing and details. I've never had an helmet with such smooth pads! It has MIPS which I'm hoping it will protect my head and brain and really like the design and colors. If you need replacement parts you can find them!
Great coverage and every safety feature imaginable. Feels great out on the trail - weight a non factor. A little narrow. No problem with my Smith glasses.
The helmet shape is narrow and the fit is terrible
