Nalgene Tallboy!
Alright you came for a review, and your getting one. This bottle changed my life for the better. This bad larry crams 48 fluid ounces of water into one bottle. You will never suffer from dehydration ever again. If you don't prefer water, this can easily fit a tall boy of your choosing. If your a climber you can literally yeet this john straight off a cliff and it will be fine. I found that out today. Anyways 17 dollars is a little steep for a water bottle but you get what you pay for. Also, more real estate for stickers what more can you ask for.

shatter like glass
I have had 3 of these bottles drop from waist height onto asphalt or concrete and shatter! Not just break, but shatter! I wrote to Nalgene and sent photos, they sent me 1. Meanwhile, the old school white bottles keep right on keepin' on. They're cheaper too.

Disappointed

I love Nalgene bottles. They are sturdy, carry a good amount of water (I drink a lot), and are lightweight. I have never seen a Nalgene break until I got this bottle. I have dropped previous Nalgene bottles hundreds of times (filled with various amounts of water) with no issue whatsoever. I had this bottle less than a month, then suddenly I drop it no more than 4 feet half full of water and it splits completely across the bottom and starts leaking heavily. I was on a mission trip in a rural area and didn’t have access to buy another bottle and this was the only source of water I had. I was drinking out of a plastic Gatorade bottle the rest of the trip. Very disappointed in this bottle.

Sturdy, but disappointing cap

Sturdy water bottle! It's a bit on the heavy side, but I love that it can hold 48oz and has a big lip for drinking from. Only downside is the plastic that holds the cap to the bottle snapped after a few weeks.

Good form factor; potentially hazardous plastic

The 1.5 L size is convenient for backpacking and other high intensity outdoor activities. Note, however, that the Tritan Renew plastic material is potentially more dangerous than BPA in some respects—it may have even higher estrogenic activity. Unfortunately, the manufacturer (Eastman) has been obscuring science on their products for several years, including discrediting independent scientists. This makes it difficult to trust that the chemicals they use in their plastics are safe. Note also that the bottle is brittle when dropped.

Customer service or quality gone downhill.

Unsure if my issue is with the product or store. This is not the first time we have purchased this type of water bottle, however it is the first time the bottom has broken after a short fall. We have owned multiple and used them daily for years! This particular one was given as a Christmas gift. I bought it back to the store I purchased it at as this is highly unusual for this water bottle. I was told it was ‘a user error’ and nothing they can do about it. Either the quality of the water bottle has gone down or the quality of the customer service has gone down. Either way I left the store annoyed.

Nalgene bottle broke

Dropped and it broke. I have never had a Nalgene bottle do that.

Perfect for Backpacking

I got these to take backpacking and to pair with the hydration hardside swig rig. I haven't taken them out on the trail yet but am pretty sure they are going to be one of my new favorite things. The hydration hardside swig rig converts Nalgene bottles into a drinking tube system to replace using water bladders which are difficult to fit into packs and a bit more fragile. I pair these with my rei flash 55 which has a water bottle holder on each side. I got one of each color. One bottle is for regular water and one is for electrolyte water. It's a pretty perfect set up. Especially when paired with the Sawyer squeeze and Cnoc bag for filtering water.

broke after a 3 foot drop

I only had the bottle for 4 days when I dropped it on my apartment floor. The bottom shattered and water went everywhere. I’m extremely disappointed with Nalgene. Their products use to be quality and this is absolutely ridiculous.

Cheap Plastic

Charging almost $20 yet broke from being dropped from waist height. Made of cheap plastic, buy another brand.

Strap breaks every time

This is my favorite nalgene, i love the size and hate tbe 32oz, but im giving three stars because ive bought two in the last year and the strap on the lid always breaks. Dropped my first one and the grooves of the lid indented the strap so deep it separated. Had my new one on a carabiner while backpacking and the strap ripped right off the top of the lid. Its just glued down, so i guess the heavier weight of the volume is too much if it's swinging around by the strap. Wish the strap were more durable 3/5
