Classic Nalgene
Solid as always. I’ve lost a couple recently and needed a replacement. I like the clear ones so I can sticker it up and can tell when it is clean.
Keep selling these, & I'll keep buying 'em!
Clean, terrifically-designed Nalgene REI branded water vessel. This replaces one I just lost on a camping trip. Of course, I had to slap on a religious sticker honoring Patron Saint Sakuraba-sama.
Replacement for my old one.
I've had several Nalgene bottles and loved them all! The last time I got a new one was because the old one was not up to the new plastic standards and it cracked in the freezer. I never had that problem again, but it was time for a new bottle to replace the 10 yr + old one that had lost it's design and the piece that keeps the cap with the bottle. So I look forward to another 10 yrs + with this new one! (Don't worry, I didn't throw the old one out, I use it as a hard boiled egg peeler... just add a little water and shake! Works great!
Total garbage
Total garbage- lousy material that if, according to REI, you fill more than 2/3 and put in freezer the material just cracks and splits. First time use and this happened. REI said it's not their problem and would not even replace the stinkin bottle. Customer rep just disconnected Live Chat. haha, what a bunch clowns you all have turned into!
Broke quickly
It broke two weeks after buying it for summer camps. Not sure if it's bad quality or just a common issue with hard plastic bottles. We get dents in all metal bottles, too. But dents are safer than splinters. Design is ok, blue semi transparent with measurement indicators on the side. REI branding. It didn't leak. It looks like we can't exchange it, a bit sad bc we also bought a sticker at REI that is gone now. Will not buying it again, also bc it's too wide for a busy school backpack (orange REI brand, women backpack).
the plastic bottle breaks easily
I feel like I should post this warning about the REI co-op water bottles. I bought one of these types, then a week later accidentally dropped it in a parking lot and the bottom of the bottle bottle cracked open. That was after just one week. I have owned Regular Nalgene water bottles for years and years and that never happened before. I read the reviews of other REI co-op water bottles and that has happened to many others that have owned these types. However regular Nalgene bottles are fine- I have dropped those countless times and not one of those types have ever broken. As a matter of fact, I own 4 regular Nalgene bottles and bring one of those to work each day. Those are my Favorite type of water bottles! The only ones I use. Just thought that I would share the difference.
Smelly from the start
I bought this small nalgene for travel. Sadly, it has immediately developed a sour smell. I have tried several solutions (baking soda, bleach, soap & water) to no avail. I wonder if the new materials are the cause. Thanks to your generous policy, this will be returned. Back to stainless for me!
Great bottle. I use it everyday.
Love it. Clear so i can keep track of fluids(with the nice measurements on the side). Easy to clean. Only downside is it doesnt keep things cold for too long.
Not your ordinary Sipi-Cup.
I love the Nalgene bottles. They are not an over engineered sipi cup with straws, bangles, and flippers. They are a strait forward sturdy, easy to use container for liquids. They are also NOT made with toxic chemicals. They are also bomb proof, I have dropped mine a few time when it is full of water and it did not break. They are made in America and make a perfect gift for anyone. The REI logo is an added bonus for those of us who like to promote the outdoor lifestyle.
Favorite water bottle for everyday use
I use this water bottle every day, it comes with me to work, on errands, outdoorsy treks, etc and it holds up very well. The wide mouth opening is much preferred over any other and it’s very easy to clean. I’ve dropped this full of water on hard concrete (it fell out of a small backpack which I knew wouldn’t hold but I tried anyway lol) and it came out with a few minor scuffs so that is a testament to its durability. Love the color and the brand. Bonus points for the easy to read measurements as well.
