Does the trick
I don't like having to buy an expensive footprint after spending so much for the tent, but this is not my first Big Agnes Copper Spur so I knew I would have to. The footprint on my previous Copper Spur outlasted the rainfly so I expect this one to do the same. I considered the added weight for the bikepack version over the basic tent and the slightly higher cost, but thought there is an advantage to being able to lay all my outside the tent gear on the vestibule section of the footprint. The heavyweight plastic bag I used in the past for my tent entrance and boot removal worked, but is no longer required. I did consider the alternatives (e.g., tyvek), but stuck with what has worked well for me in the past. The only reason for dinging the product rating is the high cost. I noticed the price has increased since I bought mine in November.
GROUND SHEET (FOOT PRINT).
The ground sheet is nice and big. It fits the the whole length and width of the tent. I should know. I set it up in my living room.
