Fitted shoe with good power to the pedals.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have two pairs of 5/10 Freerider shoes, one of which is a number of years old. This is my first pair of the Pro model. It’s a much smaller, narrower shoes with a much stiffer sole than the standard Freerider. I was concerned about the sole adhering to my pedals because of the stiffness, but after a hard ride in them I think they’re better. I never “lost” my pedals. I bought my normal size, but if you’re looking for more toe room you might go up a 1/2 size. I wore them around the house, ran some errands and went for a walk in them before I rode in them because they’re pretty stiff out of the box.

Expectations Exceeded

Had the a pair of Freeriders, loved them, thought they were great and then I got a pair of the Freerider Pros and now realize what I had been missing out on that whole time. The FPs stay put! You don’t have to try to keep them on the pedals, they just do. They aren’t as comfy as the Freeriders but they also haven’t gotten in my way while pedaling, and they’ve helped keep my feet gripped saving my shins from nasty pedal strikes. I’m impressed. Sometimes you wonder, ‘is there really that big of a difference between the $100 shoe and the $150 one?!!’ Yes. Yes there is.

Brilliant great bike shoes!

Exactly as everyone else is reviewing Five Ten shoes, great bike shoes! I’m 5.5 shoe size but I always get a half size up - they fit perfectly and there’s a bit of room left. My right foot is wider and the stiffness of the shoes also doesn’t affect me. They’re very comfortable. For me great bike shoes, not for longer walking but I’ve purchased them for cycling. Waterproof, good and reliable grip, comfortable and nice looking too! Highly recommend.

Best shoe I’ve worn

This shoe delivers the ideal combination of all-day comfort and unbelievable pedal grip, with the perfect amount of sole stiffness added in. I have tried quite a few other flat pedal shoes over the last three years, and this one is unbeatable. Worth the price, since they feel well constructed and bombproof. The soles grip the pedal pins and then seem to rebound, avoiding the quick wear I’ve seen from (less-grippy) shoes. They look good, too, which is always a plus. If you’re a serious flat pedal rider, don’t waste time and money on anything else. So long as the fit works for you, this shoe will deliver.

not built to last

I was excited to ride in my new shoes and just noticed today that the sides of the shoes are coming apart! I’ve only worn them 4 times and haven’t rode that hard in them since I’m a newbie.

Amazing quality shoe!!!

I am in love with these shoes!!! Right out of the box the quality and craftsmanship is outstanding. They fit perfectly, true to size. I am an 8.5 and the 8.5 fits perfectly. If I had gone down to an 8 they would have been too small. And I never wear a size 9. The stickiness of the shoes is great on flat pedals. I am able to lift my rear wheel with ease in these shoes and they do have a good grip on pedals so much so that it takes more effort to reposition your foot on the pedal. This is great thought. I like the stability and confidence these shoes give me on the trails.

Same five ten soles!

My last pair of five ten before Adidas bought them lasted for 6 years!! They were pretty beat up so it was time for a shiny new pair because nothing beats the soles on flat mtb pedals. Happy with my new all black pair, but you may have to play with the sizing a bit. I had to go down a full size. My old freeride pro's were 8.5. I generally wear 8 in all other shoes and had to go down a 7.5 in these. I may have been able to stick with the 8's but thought they'd loosen up even more with wear. Hoping these ones hold up to the trails as long as my last pair!
