Awesome bikepacking fork bags

Awesome Bags! I purchased these before a trip and mounted them the night before I took off on a 5 day backcountry gravel adventure. They worked perfectly! They were my go to bags for quick and easy access, stayed in placed over what felt like a million rocks. I would highly recommend these. I used one side for my cooking gear and my other for my meals.

Light but sturdy - great bags

I ordered these the week before a 180 mile cool-weather bikepacking trip. They came on time. They're surprisingly light even with the mounts. They also hold as much as a Tardis. They're much bigger on the inside. I was able to stuff an entire down puffy jacket and insulated pants into ONE side. I had room in the other side for other sleeping gear. The mounts are very solid. There were no shakes, rattles or rolls. My bike has mounting holes on the forks, so the install was super easy. PLEASE NOTE: The mounts ARE included with this product. They are packed inside the bag. I made the mistake of not looking in the bag because it felt too light to actually contain something. I ordered extra mounts from a different supplier...then my wife opened the bag. Everything was included. Also - I didn't get to test in rain, but I was riding a very dusty trail. As you'd expect with Ortlieb, everything is nice and clean and dry.

Ortlieb mini-pannier Fork Pack rocks

The mounting hardware is high quality and super stable. I'm able to fit my Mountain Hardware puffy, 250 thickness Smartwool top, 150 bottoms and a fresh set of wool socks. Including the pannier, it all weighs 2.5 lbs.

Good place for lock, water.

Bought a pair to hold abus chain lock, tool roll, and water bottle. Installation is easier if you mount top band loosely, then mark where the bottom band goes. Forget measuring.

Very well constructed

Well thought out piece of kit. Really like the ease of putting the bag on the bike (and taking it off). Used it for all the small things that typically make my other bags a nightmare to rifle through. Installation was a breeze as well. Really couldn't be happier with these bags.

Mounted to a rear old man mountain divide rack

I received my order and one pack was attached to a cardboard information piece that described the product and its information. The other did not and the cardboard portion was missing, but it did contain all the parts. Not sure if the no cardboard one was a return, used or what, but it looks okay. REI has always been a very reputable place to order and has easy returns, I have been a member since 1979. The fork pack was used for the rear old man mountain divide rack. I wanted smaller bags for day trips and this worked out for me. I purchased two of them and was able to mount the bag bracket to the rack with different mounting hardware. The bags appear very stout and should work good for my century rides. REI needs to include all the items for a listed as new product.
