Does what it is meant to do!
Not an absolute necessity when climbing outside, because the same thing can be done with a quickdraw or two. However, it is very convenient and with a rating of 22 kN (just under 5,000 lbs) I feel safe using it.
Trusted POE
Anchored me into a wall plenty of times. Trust it with my life.
Great PAS and Very Sturdy
I bought this a couple months ago and have used it on numerous climbs. I have put my life into this product and it’s never failed me. It makes me feel incredibly safe on the wall while setting anchors. Even through the numerous outdoor climbs it hasn’t frayed or ripped whatsoever. I would highly recommend this product for the quality and safety that it provides.
Multi-pitch climbing? Leave it at home
Sure there are circumstances where this would be a beneficial piece of equipment to have in your kit. Cleaning a sport anchor or bringing up with you in preparation for a complex rappel are the two obvious ones that come to mind. This is the only reason it didn’t get 1 star. Anything beyond that the PAS is a huge waste of time and energy. I ended up returning mine after taking it up two multi pitches and realizing that it had absolutely no benefits over the clove hitch and was far more of a complication than a benefit. It’s not as adjustable and nowhere near as fast but I have friends that are so convinced it’s a necessity they bring it on every climb and it frustrates me to no end. Why add an additional, bulky piece of gear to your harness that can’t do as good of a job as the rope at securing you to a belay station?
Tie off
Bought this to tie off when rappelling. Works great.
Works great!
Love the daisy chain much more than a regular sling
Great utility
Great piece of gear to have! Provides quick connection point while setting up anchors or rappels and very useful for extending rappels. I will say never rely on just the rope to secure yourself to an anchor. Redundancy!
She is stiff boys
This guy is real firm and stiff. But that aint nothing a little time and rubbing cant take care of. Gotta spend some time with it and work it real good. After that itll simmer down and be more manageable
Quick Security
This type of safety anchor is ideal for adjusting quickly and securely to clip into bolts and set up or clean top ropes. Thank you!
Solid piece of equipment
Solid piece of equipment. The adjustable nature of the device is the selling point
