Secret Info

Info that should be on this site for customers to know prior to purchasing anything. These batteries will not work in temperatures below 0 degrees Celsius and yes GoPro has just recently created a battery that is supposed to work in cold temps but if you live in Canada they cannot ship these batteries to you after you've already purchased your camera package. So if you became a subscriber strictly to reap the benefits of buying accessories, primarily batteries at a much cheaper price, you will have to purchase them from a store in your city at full price and they won't reimburse you the difference. No customer should have to read reviews to find this info.

Shoot quick before it’s done

The reviews specifically state longer battery life. Well, that’s not the case for these new batteries. Turning on the camera alone eats up 1 to 2 percentages of the battery! My hero 5’s battery would last me way more than this new battery type. I guess it’s a good thing I bought an extra battery because I know for a fact one of these won’t last long. So much for making us believe these were an upgrade so make sure you shoot quick because the battery will be done before you know it.

Jesus, Thanks for the feedback. We believe in HERO10. No video camera on the market is as unobtrusive due to its small size and yet provides such amazing visual acuity. This is the result of a new processor. The counter to that power is it takes a lot of battery life. Battery life varies under different conditions, and high heat is one of them. We rate our standard battery to last about an hour in optimum conditions, and we rate Enduro to last about 40 percent longer than the standard battery. However, in high heat under direct sun with little airflow, these are conditions that can have an impact on battery life. The standard battery is compatible with the Enduro dual battery charger, and the Enduro can be charged in the standard battery charger. https://gopro.com/en/us/shop/mounts-accessories/hero10-black-dual-battery-charger-enduro-batteries/ADDBD-211-master.html Battery life varies under different conditions, and high heat is one of them. Can't believe they ship these batteries out with their newest cameras instead of the high performance batteries.

GoPro cameras are essentially useless with these low power batteries. It's amazing how fast these batteries drop in just 10 minutes or taking a short video. By the time I turned my camera on and fumbled for a few minutes getting it mounted, the battery dropped from 100%-87%. This was without filming anything! I got my GoPro for filming while traveling and even though I got two of these basic batteries as a part of a bundle, I had to go ahead and order the enduro. In my opinion, I would rather pay an additional fee and have the enduro included with the GoPro Hero 10 instead of having 2 relatively useless batteries. These should be discontinued and they should only be selling the higher performing batteries.

New battery

Ordered a spear battery for those times when I will be shooting lots of video. Hopefully 2021 will be a better for getting out to shot video. GoPro really needs to rethink about how they package their products; a lot of carboard was used for such a small battery. Lets save a few trees GoPro!

Broken battery after minimal use.

I purchased a new GoPro Hero 9 that came with 2 batteries. I've used it probably 20 times alternating the batteries as they normally only last about 45 minutes. Yesterday, I ran out of battery power and started to remove the battery and the blue end cap broke off while pulling the tab. I had to use a thread ripper to pry it out of the camera as it wouldn't budge trying to use tape and some other methods to extract it from the battery compartment. I'm totally in shock because this is a genuine GoPro battery so I expected rock solid quality. Very disappointing.

Powers my GoPro for about 5 seconds...

I have to agree with all the other reviewers that the life of these batteries is painfully short. When skiing or doing cold weather activities I literally can not use them at all. The camera starts up (maybe) and then shuts down immediately. Even for regular warm weather activities, they don't last very long. GoPro should not sell these batteries - they are a waste. GoPro should transition entirely to their new longer life battery, and they should start working on something new because even the "long life" ones don't last very long.

Does not sustain cold temperatures

The battery as a short life span and never works during winter. I just came back from skiing at -4°C which is a very hot ski day in Canada and my GoPro always turned off because of the battery being too "cold". Of course, GoPro released a new battery that can sustain tempertaures down to -10°C (still hot for Canada), but they don't ship it to Canada yet. Back in the days, I had the very first GoPro model and I never had this issue. It is very disapointing that after 10 generations, the product loses some of its most important qualities. Please GoPro, do something about this issue. I'll give you an advice since I'm a nice guy: make a thermal protective cover for your camera that you can sell as one of your many expensive accessories. Skiers will buy it.

Like so many issues with GoPro kit this battery is insufficient to do the job it was designed for

Instead of trying to get a new version of a GoPro out every year they should dial in the equipment they are actually selling. Like so many bad elements of the GoPro 10 (over heating, locking up, useless phone app) the battery is also a disgrace. In order to get a "partial" filming of a 1:30 hour mountain bike ride I go through 3 batteries, and this is with me really limiting my shooting based on this issue, in addition to only shooting on the standard mode to extend batteries. Shame on you GoPro
