I took these boots up to the mountains with me this past week and hiked in them on 3 long day hikes. I thought I would have to break them in so brought my old pair with me as a back up. I never had to change out! I loved how comfortable and light they felt the entire time. They didn’t feel clunky or stiff which I’ve experienced with other hiking boots. These are high quality and reliable. I’ll be taking these everywhere with me!
These boots are amazing, lightweight, waterproof, and breathable. I've worn them in 100 degree North Carolina humidity to heavy snow and had no issues. I have super narrow heels and I have a hard time finding boots that fit and don't give me blisters. These were great right from the start, my heel didn't slip and they required almost no break-in period. The tongue of the boot was a bit uncomfortable at first, but after trying out a few different ways of lacing them I've had no issues. My only complaint with these boots would be the color options, I wish they came in more neutral colors like the men's boots.
I recently bought these shoes for a hiking trip in Maine. I briefly broke them in before the trip and had no issues with them while hiking, they are super comfortable and warm! I walked 40+ miles through various rocky trails and my feet felt supported and never slipped. I highly recommend these, however, they may be a bit hot for summer or warmer climates. I do wish they offered better colors as well. I would buy again!!
I am so glad to hear they worked great for you during your trip to Maine! I hope they continue to work for you during every adventure. Thank you for this great review!
I bought a similar version of this waterproof boot to hike the first 700 miles of the Appalachian Trail in late winter 2022. They were grippy on wet rock, kept my feet dry slogging through slush, and gave firm support to my arches. I had no blisters or problems the whole time I wore them. I usually wear an 8.5 but those were size 9. So when I wanted another pair, I bought the same size Breeze LT NTX boots in November and started wearing them around the trails at my home in Western Montana. They have great arch support, are lightweight and flexible. I have to wait until summer to try them on steep descents over rock, which will be the final test of excellence. I went back to Vasque after blisters and sore feet from other brands. I have a narrow foot, I'm 5'5", 120 pounds.
I have narrow feet and high arches. I wear Vasques already in a mid height and love them. These have a very high support on the outside instep (if that makes sense) and I’m afraid breaking in might cause a problem. Also even for my narrow feet they seem too tight. Maybe going up a half size would help and also change the location of that high place. I hate to keep orderinv and returning though. . They seem like good supportive boots and are lighter weight than my others but I’ll just go back to my old style.
I am so glad Vasque came out with these. I walk daily and love the support of a hiker. These are perfect; with cushion, a supportive footbed, and the shape of the footbed somehow helps move one forward. They are a snug fit, but that is what I prefer, I don't like to feel like my feet are sloshing about. I walk on a lot of wet sidewalks, and these grip well. And they are extremely waterproof, I have walked through deep water and my feet stayed dry.
Purchased these bad boys to replace some well-loved boots. I risked breaking these in on a hike in SNP yesterday and had no issues whatsoever on uneven, rocky terrain and with river crossings and plenty of mud. All of this while holding back my psycho lab that wanted to non-stop swim in the river and waterfalls. No soreness or blisters to speak of today--win!! These were perfect for spring hiking. My feet didn't get too warm like they sometimes can in my Merrill's. The ankle support could be a little tight for those with larger ankles. For me, they offered more support than any of my other boots and improved cushion as well. A word of caution--I had to buy a 7.5. I'm a 6.5 in literally every other boot and shoe I've worn in my life. Sometimes I can even get away with a 6.0. I have fairly narrow feet but don't purchase narrow shoes. These are "snug" even for my foot, but for me it's a good thing as it keeps my foot from shifting laterally while I walk and minimizes the risk of blisters for me. If you have wide feet, you want to go try these on and consider a wide size to avoid disappointment. Overall, I recommend these boots but as others have said, they do run small and narrow.
i have feet on the wider side so i knew going into this purchase that the break-in of these boots wouldn’t be pleasant (vasque usually fits tight), but surprisingly it only took around 3 days of heavy hiking/ farm work before they fit like a glove! (pre-emptive bandaiding of trouble spots highly recommended). lots of reviewers have mentioned that these boots run narrow and small, and that’s definitely true. i usually wear a 6.5/7 in regular shoes and sized up to a 7.5 for these boots- they were snug at first but after adjusting the laces and wearing them for the aforementioned 3 days, they felt great. these boots are such great quality and loaded with features- they’re so lightweight that they feel like running sneakers, and the sole is flexible enough that you can move like a mountain goat. however, the high top and sides provide lots of support so you get both the benefits of a trail runner and a heavier, more supportive boot without the downsides of either. i highly recommend these boots!
Boots look nice and are lightweight, but the toebox is far too narrow for my feet. I do have feet on the wider side (a pain when you're a W6 because most companies only carry men's boots in wide, and those don't go small enough). So if you've got little duck feet like me, best to keep looking for another boot.
I have extremely narrow feet, long feet. These boots fit me perfectly. They are extremely comfortable, snug, and lightweight. Would highly recommend.
