So comfortable!

I’ve used this PFD for two seasons now. It’s super comfortable! The material they use in the front is almost like memory foam, it’s soft and squishy. Recently I’ve stopped using a camp pillow when I’m in the backcountry and I’ve actually been using this PFD wrapped in a shirt as my pillow. The pockets are lined with fleece so it’s nice to stick your hands in the pockets when it’s chilly, and the clip point on the front is solid clipping point for a knife or radio or something. Tons of adjustability, it will fit most any body size. I got size L/XL and I’m a 6’3” male, 225lbs, 42” chest. I have loaned this out to my brother who’s 5’8” and a 38” chest or my dad who has a very large chest and they both loved the fit. The only things I don’t love are the chest does stick out a little bit more than I’d like, and it takes a long time to dry if it gets wet. But those are small concessions to make for the comfort, and even if it’s a little puffy up front it still doesn’t impede paddling at all. I’ve used it on river trips and in the BWCA, used 1-2 times a month, (May through early October,) and it still looks brand new. Even the fleece in the pockets is still soft.

Swam Dubendorff

Amongst other uses, wore for 16 days rafting the Colorado River. Loved the PDF, zero complaints. Swam a rapid (not on purpose) and it did what it was supposed to do.

Fit and function

I was right on the border for the fit as I am bigger in the chest area, but smaller everywhere else so I chanced it got a size SM instead of Medium. It was a little tight to zip up, but once zipped in, it fit perfect. I swam a couple rapids with it and it did great keeping me afloat. Movement is great as well, love the feeling of being able to move. The front zip pocket fits a large phone perfectly and I enjoy the zipped hand pockets. Keep in mind, none of the pockets are water proof.

The Best All Around Life Jacket Ever?

First, the comfort. They aren't lying when they say that the Kapok fill in the Ceiba is ultra comfortable. It really is like wearing a down jacket as a life jacket. Literally hugs your body like a warm embrace. Add in the simplicity and front zip entry, and this is now the best and most versatile life jacket in my garage. Bonus points for using a bluesign shell and continuing leading the industry away from toxic materials.

I LOVE THIS PFD!

This life jacket is not only the most comfortable floatation I have ever used and also the most kind to the environment. Its floatation is supplied by Kapok, a natural fiber that is much softer than traditional petroleum-derived foam and contours to your body and body’s movements much better. It feels like wearing a pillow and its fleece-lined hand warmer pockets further the coziness of this PFD. The three side-straps allow for a uniformly snug fit that also combines with the softness of the Kapok to contour to the wearer nicely and allows a broad range of motion. Having paddled my Necky Looksha IV sea kayak with this PFD for the last 18 months, I’ve found that I have enough mobility for a good eskimo roll and aggressive paddling without any noticeable under arm abrasion or other motion limitation. For the type of paddling I do in relatively chilly water, it works great. The only critique I have of this particular PFD is that it can be pretty warm on hot days, especially if you’re not getting wet (mine is also black so that might be part of it). Overall, this is a fantastic PFD.
