Works perfectly
Just took this rack on a six thousand mile journey, San Diego, CA to Stockbridge, MA. Rack worked flawlessly through triple digit temperatures, the heaviest rain I have ever been in, freeways, country roads. I tightened everything after day one, and although I checked repeatedly, they never needed to be tightened again. Easy to put together, simple to rack your bike up. Far exceeded my expectations ................

product materials failure
I bought this rack in 2021 and used it without incident for two summers. It handled my e-bike OK after I removed the front wheel fender in order to snug the lockdown hook on the front tire better. the cradles were a bit wobbly and hard to get the bike into easily. Once in place and ratcheted down, there was a bit of sway, but I have seen worse on hanging bike racks. Fast forward to this summer. While transporting the bike on the freeway, the bike suddenly disappeared from my rearview mirror. I pulled off the road and discovered that the front wheel cradle had broken off from the rack completely. My saving grace was that I had the bike wrapped in a water resistant cover and the cover attached to the main part of the rack. That cover managed to keep the bike from dropping completely to the roadway and being dragged. Kuat customer service was very efficient in arranging for a replacement part to be sent next day delivery after I sent warranty numbers and pictures of the damage. I appreciate their efficiency, and also am grateful my bike seems ok, as the warranty with Kuat would not have covered damage to the product being carried by the rack (my bike!).

Excellent light weight rack

Excellent lightweight rack. I bought thinking in functionality and easy to use. It met my expectations. I will add a couple of cons and pros to why you want this bike rack. Pros It fits well: It's versatile. It can be used in 1.25' or 2.00 Easy to carry around: If you do not want to have it installed, it folds excellent to keep in your trunk. I have a small car, and it fits well. Good stability: I tested on the freeway. No issues. My bike is 28 pounds. I did not try for more than one bike or heavier bikes. Cons: It only has one locker key. It could be nice to have two keys.

So far so good

Took it on a 5 hour drive with a 50 lb E-Bike on it. Might have shook the tires loose. Had some locking tire skewers installed at a bike shop. SInce the tires are the only part locked onto the rack, it could have made the tires loose. I'm only minusing a star from bad design on the hitch pin area. they have an adapter that makes its fit into a 2 inch receiver. That causes the hole to be off center and can only use a 1/4 thick locking pin to be used. Also at this price they could supply a locking hitch pin so someone doesn't just walk off with both the bike and the rack.

LIGHT, STURDY AND EASY TO ASSEMBLE

Light, sturdy and easy to assemble! This rack was just what I was looking for to transport me and my 29” hard tail to mountain trailheads for backcountry fly fishing excursions. I had used roof racks for years but when I got in the deep woods, overhanging trees created a serious impediment to driving. This bike locks in tightly but releases with ease when I’m at my destination. I drive a Honda CR-V and the tailgate clears the up-folded rack for easy access to the truck space when there is no bike loaded. If I need to remove the rack, a few turns of the locking screw (important - save the special tool in a location where you remember), remove the cotter pin and it slides right out. This rack is really the perfect hitch mounted, single bike rack for my needs.

Very sturdy.

This is a solid bike rack. It holds the bike securely with pretty much no wobble and that’s a 30lb full suspension 29er. I like that on my Forester in the folded up position I can still open the hatch. But in the tilted position with the bike on it I can’t open the hatch primarily due to the 800mm bars, that’s a bit of a bummer. Assembly was pretty good but there was a couple times I had to break out the dead blow mallet.

Great minimalist rack for single bike owners

After reading reviews and watching countless videos on single-bike racks I settled on the Kuat Transfer V2 because of the simple, thoughtful design, compact size, and low profile that doesn't interfere with the backup camera or rear hatch access. The rack was easy and quick to assemble and has excellent fit and finish. Installed into the hitch receiver with the 2" adapter, it is tight and sturdy. Loading and unloading the bike is a cinch, and the tilt away to allow opening the back hatch is perfect. Did I mention thoughtful design? To release the hitch for tilting or folding up there's a foot pedal rather than a hand release - so convenient. With the bike (an aluminum frame hard tail, about 30-35 pounds) loaded and clamped down it is rock solid. There is no sway or wobble and very little bounce even over hard bumps or holes. I'm really impressed with the looks, function, and quality of this rack and recommend giving it serious consideration.

Excellent rack!

I am super happy with this rack. I bought it for use with my Crosstrek and could not be happier. I have had it for 2 season here in Reno, NV. My bike stays totally secure whether I’m driving through town or on the freeway. I took my bike down to SoCal and didn’t have any issue’s whatsoever. I also have the Kuat 1 bike add on that’s super easy to use, definitely recommend!

Looks like a great product from Kuat

This item comes with a good instruction manual which allowed for reasonably straightforward assembly. I had to read certain sections a couple of times but was able to get it together and installed on the back of my vehicle. Adding a bike and securing it to the new rack is very easily done and the bike seems secure. I really like the tilting function while the bike is mounted that allows me to open the rear hatch on a Toyota 4Runner (5th Gen). I would recommend this rack to anyone looking for a solid product.

Excellent

This is the second rack of this model we’ve purchased. It’s easy to use and very secure. My husband usually assembles everything, but I’m visiting my daughter across the country and assembled it myself. The directions are clear, and the included tools work. I highly recommend this bike rack!
