So I have hiked and climbed in Asolo boots for over 40 years and the 535 is probably my favorite. A bit heavy but wonderful support that last, my boots are over ten years old and probably have a 1000 miles on them (of course I use other lighter boots too). Love the full grain leather, great quality and I like that it's NOT gore-tex, as such it breathes much better and at the same time is quite warm for snow climbs and more than adequate in water resistance. Can't say enough about the boot, well made, great shank and fit. Easily works with crampons. A great "Old School" boot while at the same time minimal break in period. Enjoy!!
I bought these shoes in 2018 and I've worn them all over the world over the last five years. They are still in excellent condition except for needing replacement laces and they are by far the most comfortable hiking shoes I've ever owned. They are extremely stable and supportive. I have short, narrow to average width feet, a high arch, small ankles, a short Achilles tendon/terrible foot flexibility, I'm duck-footed and the cherry on top...I have a bunion on my left toe. I have been searching for the holy grail of shoes my entire life given all of the above stability issues and yet...I love to hike. Folks, let me tell you something: these shoes are the real thing. They are the holy grail, the Mona Lisa, the Hope Diamond, the first edition, pole position, Venti sized grand prize of hiking boots. I even wear them on cold or rainy days when I will be on my feet in the operating room for 8+ hours. Zero pain. Zero fatigue. 100% happy hiker. You'll love them.
