Velcro consistently wears out.
This is our second pair of these shoes where the Velcro wears out within a couple of months. I want to love these because they’re great everyday shoes for Michigan spring and fall— not too hot or heavy, but stand up to the elements otherwise. But it seems Merrell just can’t get the tech right on them, unfortunately. Our second pair is going back.

Great toddler shoe
This shoe is great. My 2 year old hikes, rides her strider, climbs rocks, and this shoe holds up to it all!

Great little hikers

Perfect for our little explorer!
This shoe has all the great features you would want in a hiking shoe, great grip, water repellent, comfortable, and secure. They are also cute enough to be worn as an everyday shoe. Our little one has only worn them for a month so far but the quality of the material and construction is superb, so we have no concerns about the durability after extended use. Merrells reputation and warranty speaks for itself! Shoe is super secure on the heel with nice room on the toe box. Fit is true to size. If your little one wears a 5 then order a 5. The shoe is very easy to slip on and opens plenty wide enough if the kiddo is wearing big comfy socks for the winter. BUY THIS SHOE
Great for my active son with wide feet
This is the second year I’ve bought these and I will keep buying each year. They are the only shoes that work for his wide feet. The sole is sturdy and flexible - perfect for climbing and exploring. The only downside is the Velcro. It stopped working after less than 3 months of wear but I filled out the form and Merrell sent us a new pair! With a company that stands by their product like that, I am a loyal customer. I do think it’s important to note that this shoe protects his feet from getting wet while walking briefly in the rain but is not actually waterproof. Stepping in a puddle will yield a wet foot.

I bought this product for my 3 year old son who loved them. I was thrilled with the zero drop and wide toe box. He’s used them for playing, hiking and just running around. It’s now 5 months later and they are coming apart at the seams. They aren’t going to last much longer and I will be searching elsewhere for replacement shoes. I feel for the price they should be able to be used for more than 5 months and even more than one child.

Great quality & function, super cute.
We love these shoes! They have become the everyday favorite for my 2.5 (almost 3) year old. She wears them to daycare, and they are perfect for all-day wear in the fall/winter months. They have good traction for walking & hiking on dirt trails, and the slightly higher ankle keeps out the dust and rocks. These do seem pretty wide and large for the size. This may be intentional since the barefoot style allows for flexibility and for the toes to spread out. I love this, especially for shoes she wears all day at school. They are lightweight, very easy on/off and the retro styling is adorable. These are absolutely worth the investment! We will likely get a full year of wear out of them.

I bought it for my 2.5 y/o son and hes been using it almost daily for 6 months now. Its been through mud, rocks, everything and i love that he can run with them on comfortably without it marking his feet. The extra traction really helps too and is pretty grippy. Just wish it was machine washable but fairly easy to clean otherwise 🤩

Perfect for active toddler
These shoes are perfect for my toddler. He can't keep shoes on his feet with how active he is, but these stay on! They're solid shoes that he wears to daycare all day. We will definitely continue to buy these as he grows.
