Love these for indoor cycling and short rides
These are light, low-compression cycle shorts for short rides or indoor cycling use. The waist is not too high (yay!) and on me does not fold down. The legs are LONG. If you're short or looking for short shorts, don't buy. They are also not high compression and ride up a bit even on my athletic thighs. Padding is light. I bought these primarily for exercise biking and was able to try them on at an REI store first. According to the size chart I'm size M, but S fit much better (the M was comfortable but a short called "Bermuda" is probably not intended to be high compression or tight). For reference I got size S, 5'11", about 140 lb.
Wasn’t sure with the waist...
I wasn’t sure about the waist on these shorts at first. Until I finished a ride. All I can say is I adore these shorts. Seriously. The legs don’t have gripper elastic and I don’t like it when the legs ride up. Trust me. I prefer leg grippers... before these shorts. The waist band when I first put them on was kind of odd. I liked initially that it didn’t hang on for dear life. Yet I wondered if it would stay up. It did. I adore the waist band. I’m guessing this is what bib shorts feel like. I now dread wearing my other cycling shorts. Thanks, Terry. Ha. Seriously, these are nice shorts. And the side pockets are very deep. Kudos for the pockets on a ladies piece of clothing. I’m going to buy another pair or two. This is a great price for a really nice pair of shorts. And the lady bits are happy, too.
Made A 35-Mile Ride Possible
I did my first REALLY long bike ride at the end of September and I was nervous about the mileage, especially because seat friction is one of my least favorite things. After trying on a few cheaper kinds of shorts from other major retailers, I decided to try these after tons of research. They're worth the money! While they didn't totally save me from seat discomfort, they helped a TON. I'm a curvier-hipped person and I'd recommend these.
Not Going to Cut It
I ordered these shorts online because my previous Pearl Izumi bike shorts chamois was no longer working after 2000+ miles. I had to return these shorts without using them because 1) the chamois was very thin. No way would I be comfortable after 20+ miles. My shorts with over 2000 mi still had a thicker chamois *surprised Pikachu face* 2) The bottom of the legs had no grippy material to prevent them from riding up. 3) they felt thin with little compression. They did fit very well, but for the cost, I expect multiple pros.
My new favorite short
These are my new favorite cycling shorts. I like a short that's a little longer and with a thinner pad. These meet both criteria. The fabric is nice and there is a pocket, which I haven't used it yet but can see how it would be useful. They are comfortable on the trainer, on the road bike, and the gravel bike. I have two pair...and I think there may be more in my future.
Love these bike shorts!
I've gone through a LOT of different bike shorts and these are, by far, the most comfortable. I am barely aware I'm wearing them. They don't ride up anywhere and the chamois is just perfect. I love having a pocket (wish there were two!). I ride 400-500 miles/month and these keep me comfortable. I am 5'9" /135 lbs and a M fits me well.
Very Comfortable
These shorts are very comfortable. The material is soft and stretchy which makes them easy to get on and off. They are not high compression so they don’t dig into you. They fit true to size and a small fit my 5’4, 120# frame perfectly. My only complaint is the chamois comes up fairly high in the front which can get uncomfortable on longer rides but isn’t a dealbreaker. A sales rep at my local REI recommended the Terry brand to me and since the purchase of these shorts I have become a big fan of Terry. I now own many of their jerseys and shorts including two pair of the Bermudas. Highly recommend!
Disappointing fit. Will be exchanging.
I had previously purchased the Terry Touring Bike Shorts and loved those. I wanted an additional pair, but REI only had the Terry Bike Bermuda Short in stock to try on in the store. The small fit fine, but I was concerned that the thigh could get tight over time so I ordered a medium while at the store and could not try on. I am 5'7" and 125-130 lb. Typically I wear a small, but I had previously purchased a medium in the Terry Touring shorts so I was not overly concerned with going up a size without the ability to try the product on first. Both the waist band and the thigh are not at all tight or firm fitting in the Bermuda shorts - they seem to have very little structure to the design. The material seems thin and overall just not as well made or durable as the Touring shorts. When I attempted to spin in the Bermuda shorts, the unstructured, very loose fitting top just kept rolling down. I am disappointed with these shorts, both in fit and construction. I will be exchanging these for another pair of the Terry Touring Bike Shorts. The Touring shorts feel like they are designed and constructed as a much higher quality product. The Bermuda shorts feel like yoga pants with a padded liner.
only good thing is the pocket
These don’t have enough padding at all. My V hurts so bad after a ride with these. And they are too loose, so they move all around on your ride and the you can feel the stitching slicing you. The only good thing is the side pocket is large enough for an iPhone. I’m not sure I can return them since they are like underwear, which sucks bc they were $100! I suppose I’ll wear another chamois underneath them for added cushion and to also use the pocket. Not sure how that’s gonna feel.
Great shorts!
I love these shorts. They are really comfortable. The pocket easily holds my phone and would hold more. (Perhaps cash, ID...) As a short person (barely 5' tall) the length is a little long, but I'm used to that. No grippers around the thigh and a comfortable waistband.
