Great cap for big heads.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have worn Seattle Sombreros ever since the first generation of them hit the market. That line of hats are tough as nails. In fact I still have my first one from the late 1980s and it is still waterproof. This ball cap version looks just as durable and fits my big cranium with room to spare and believe me I have a hard time finding hats that are not too tight. OR has consistently made good gear and this cap measures up to the standard. The only problem with it is this; I do not think "one size fits all" will work for people with small heads. But other than that it is a good quality hat that is comfortable to wear even when it is hot.

Please Improve it by Changing Logo placement + More Colours

Very nice hat with excellent quality material and nice shape. I was going to buy this at MEC in Canada, but I didn't because the big OR logo in the middle is not attractive. The small logo on the side of the Outdoor research Radar cap looks much better, but the Radar cap is not as nice. I wish Outdoor Research improves this Seattle rain cap hat and makes it with the same small side logo as the Radar cap. Please see photo I made to see how much better it looks. It doesn't make much sense to just have a big OR logo anyways. Most people don't know what OR stands for. They should have a small OR and outdoor research wordmark so people know what OR stands for and that that's the logo. Please make this hat in Khaki and Navy blue. The black is nice but the other current colours are not that attractive.

Wanted to love this cap, but...

This cap is a fantastic idea and would have been my go to for wet or dry weather; however, I was surprised at the very poor fit/form/function. It is huge. I have a middle of the road sized head and middle of the road sizing for caps, but this thing felt and looked a bit like a bulbous chef's hat with the extra material. I expected it to be much more fitted for functionality and form and just plain good looks. It has a slider in the back to dial in the hat sizing at the brim so I don't get all the extra material on top. Four of my friends and family agreed - it didn't look good on me or them. The extra material also causes pockets to form on top which will not facilitate water or snow to shed off. Sent it back at a loss of $. Bummer. Please consider a redesign to make it fitted.

Love this hat!

I bought this hat to replace a standard cap i was wearing with my raincoat to keep rain out of my face and it works like a dream! The old cap would start leaking and inevitably stop serving a purpose. But not this one! I have worn it on a couple hikes too! It is very light weight, adjustable, and most importantly it does what i needed it to! I highly recommend OR to everyone in general, but if you’re looking for rain or sun hat (or both) OR has you covered ( literally 😅)!

Good cap but too big for me

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) I purchased this cap in June, but to be honest, I was a bit disappointed. It's a very good cap in term of quality, but sadly it's slightly too big for me, even though it's supposed to be one size. I purchased similar OR cap (gortex) a long time ago and that one fits perfectly. It's a bit worn out now and I was hoping to replace it with this Seattle Rain cap. Well, I guess I will keep wearing the worn out one for now.

You Better Have Hair!

The inside liner of my rain hat disintegrated after six months of use so I brought it to the Outdoor Research store in Seattle. I was told that because I am bald, the oil from my head is causing the liner to fall apart and that I should WEAR A HAT under this hat. Seriously. No return or exchange allowed. Maybe it should carry a warning that bald people should not purchase.

Looks good, a little tight

It's goretex so of course its great for water resistance. It fits a little tight on my head, and my head isn't remarkably large (I don't think). The adjustment straps only do so much. Nothing too serious, I still recommend for anyone who likes to wear hats and needs one that doesn't get soaked when you're hiking in the rain all day!

Lightweight, windproof, durable

I use this for trail running in freezing temperatures, for yard work when it's pouring and also for travelling. It's windproof, lightweight, I like the blue color, so what's not to like? I cannot use for temperatures below -10C or below 15F where I use a warm wool hat, otherwise this is what I call a AWD hat (All Weather Design)

OR makes excellent products!

I have had several OR products since its founding back in 1981 - when I graduated college - and they have always done what they say, so I needed a rain cap to wear with my rain parka, since it seems to rain when we backpack almost always. Once again, OR meets expectations. Thank you, OR, for great products.

Great Hat!

This hat is really great in the rain! I haven’t worn it on the trails yet in rain, but I wore it outside to do yard work in heavy rain and I was able to keep doing what I was doing without the rain getting in my way and it dried out quickly. It didn’t soak through the hat either!
