Versatile and so comfortable!
Super comfortable on the trail or around town. I bought these as a lightweight hiking sandal and I've ended up wearing them getting groceries and walking around. Easy on and off, they're really light and dry super quickly if you end up in a creek or river. I have higher arches and my feet feel super supported, with no real soreness after long days in them. I wear a size 7, and it fit true to size.
These are not the Chacos that Sold me on Chacos
In my opinion, the Z/Cloud Sandals are not nearly as refined as my original Chacos. The straps that hold the shoe to the foot are too wide and a thiner material. When the straps are pulled tight enough to keep the shoe in place, the "tail" after the buckle drags on the ground. The tabs that hold the heel strap on are too high and rub my ankle. The foot bed (which sold me on Chacos to begin with) does not have the same sleek, foot hugging, supportive look of the original product I purchased. These shoes were cheaper but I would rather have purchased the prior product at a higher price.
Cute and comfy
Very cute shoe and very comfy from the get-go. True to size. A lighter, softer, more pliable sole than the Chacos with the toe-strap that I ultimately decided to go with instead of these. Not quite as much arch support as the ones with the toe-strap, either, but still a very attractive shoe. The Leary Salt color is really fun, too.
Unicorn sandals!
My feet are wide, have what is apparently a very unique shape, and usually require a lot of breaking in of strappy shoes & sandals. Then there came these Chacos! After adjusting them & wearing them around the house for a few hours, I was emboldened to wear them on a longish Saturday morning walk and for the first time *ever*, I came home from an inaugural walk with no blisters! I've barely worn other shoes since.
Sell the Origional Product
I purchased Chacos directly from from the manufacturer several years ago. They are my favorite sandals EVER. I tried the Cloud style purchased from REI and I was SADLY DISAPPOINTED! The foot bed is thicker but does not feel as dense or supportive as the original. The strap was a knited fabric instead of the strong woven strap of the origional product. The beauty of the original Chacos is their simplicity and superior quality. If is ain't broke why fix it!
