I love these sandals!

I have been wearing z-trails since they came out, and they are my go-to summer shoes. I always have a z-shaped tan on my feet by the end of every summer. I wear them as my every-day shoes, but also love hiking in them. I love the versatility of not having to worry about river crossings. I tend to just walk through the stream while everyone is picking their way along the rocks. It's particularly helpful when helping my four-year-old along river fords (or just straight up carrying her across). They had a shift in manufacturing a few years ago, and have significantly improved the glue/adhesion between the sole layers, which had been my primary complaint. I tend to wear these out in a season or maybe two, with heavy usage, but they are totally worth it. Heads up, my friend has a latex allergy and reacts to the soles of these shoes.

Comfy but not durable.

I am sadly disappointed in these sandals. Though the fit was a little small for a size 8, they started out super comfortable, and I thought they were just what I was looking for. I have had them for about 2 weeks, walked on trails and in town less than 20 miles, and the tread has already started to wear out. Also, dust tends to collect and cake under the heal and middle of my foot on the trail which is super uncomfortable. I’ve never had this experience with another sandal. I’m wondering if the Z-Trek would have been more durable? I’m not typically one to complain, but if I had it to do over I would not have purchased these sandals.

Great Sandals for Flat/Wide Feet!

I have been looking for decent walking sandals for the better part of a year because Chacos destroy my feet (I will blister in the arch). The Xeros are blessedly flat and comfortable for both easy hikes and water activities. I've taken them on a few trips this summer and the only thing that bothers me is my feet slide a little forward despite adjusting the straps. I also tested them out on ~5 miles of easy hikes in Glacier NP and found them comfortable with no issues slipping on wet rocks, etc. Good option for people who can't do Chacos or other sandals with big arches. There are dozens of us!

A fantastic 'do it all' barefoot sandal

I basically live in these sandals. I run in them, I hike in them, I wear them to go hang out with friends or go shopping, I even wear them around the house. They're nice and light with a flexible sole and straps that have never once chapped or rubbed at my skin. I especially love running in them, as they force my form to not be hot garbage. One thing that I will say is that I don't love the 'foam' on the sole. It isn't actually cushiony, which is good, and the material on the outside balls of my feet has pilled a little. However, the material does make it so I have a nice grip on the sandal, which is what keeps this review as 5 stars. I also really love the straps as opposed to the huarache/toe thong style, my feet feel so much more secure.

Unsafe and Un-returnable

This is the biggest waste of money. Within minutes of buying these shoes and putting them on they started showing visible wear. Under my foot, at the toe, you name it. They are so flimsy they constantly got caught on things. I tried using them in water and the toe strap fell off making them unsafe. I tried some minor hiking in them and truly felt unsafe of nearly flat slopes. I tried returning them to get something more safe for adventuring with my young kids. I was told because they show wear, even though I bought them less than a month ago, they won’t take them. Don’t waste your money. These are unsafe and wear out faster than a banana.

Complete Fail

I wore these for one walk and the fabric started falling apart immediately. I’m so bummed because they are adorable and super comfortable! I also love the rubber band to keep the extra strap down. I was already struggling with the price considering how little material there is… the lack of quality makes me struggle even more. I will definitely be returning these and pursuing earth runners in the hopes their quality is better!

Mixed feelings

One of the first things you notice about this shoe is how thin it looks. Surprisingly the shoe is quite comfortable regardless of how thin it appears. This is a great shoe for walking around town, but in more rugged terrain are where the issues start coming up. I have run into problems with the Velcro straps that secure the shoe in place. At the beach, if I got sand in the Velcro, the strap would come undone, so you have to make sure the Velcro is really cleaned off for it to stay on your foot properly. And if you are walking in sinking sand I find the Velcro comes undone and you're likely to lose a shoe to the sand. Same issue with mud.

Exactly what I needed - and no more.

I wanted something that would take as little space and weight in my pack as possible. I wanted something to put on in camp, at the peak to give my feet a break, or on the beach. Maybe something for a water crossing too. I was jokingly thinking about string and plastic, but I like solutions that are solid and last. These answer all my needs, they're exactly what I wanted. I can't imagine what I would change, I'm tempted to by several pairs just in case I can't get them when the pair I have inevitably falls apart. The only downside... that isn't, is that there is no cushion so walking in them on pavement requires a less pounding, slower pace.

Comfy, stylish sandals to wear everywhere!

These are the winning sandal after trying Chacos, Teva, and Keen. The adjustable straps don't rub and they stay in place once fitted to your foot, they're easy to slip on yet they don't slip off, and they are so comfortable, even for wide feet.

Love These!

I love these shoes. They are light and comfortable. I've tried other comparable brands, but these are my favorite. I wear them with or without the heel strap. Once I got the straps set how I like them, I never had to undo the velcro again - I can just pop my feet in and out. They are very easy to pack, too.

Great for everything

I love using the sandal for pretty much everything. If it’s not freezing, they’re on my feet. Citi, hiking, water, they do it all. I hand washed with sober shampoo and let them air dry every once in a while and they still look new. About to get a second pair.
