Another great product by Osprey for MTB
Great for MTB. I am able to put my first aid kit, a windbreaker jacket, some trail food and of course 1.5 L of water. It fits snug around my waist and stays fairly secure (minimal losening) over heavy downhill sections. I have 2 gripes: 1) the tube does not thread through a hole in the fabric, it just goes under the main zipper closure. So the bag can accidentally opens when you pull on the hydration tube. 2) The hydration tube does not have a quick release. This means you have to take the entire bladder with tube to get refilled.

Minus 5 Stars
Usually I write positive reviews, especially for Osprey, but this item was the absolute worst pack that I have ever used for cycling and hiking. I thought it would be good because it holds just enough water, but it was hard to fill, the hose was all over the place, and it didn’t really have a lot of room for my items after the water bladder was in place (that’s another issue altogether). I couldn’t return it fast enough.

Good hip pack, expected Osprey quality

Never thought I'd buy a fanny (hip) pack, but I did. The construction is of Osprey quality and has the usual design (e.g. key clip, net pocket, inner zippered pocket). It does need to be cinched down pretty well to keep from sliding off. After I started riding, I forgot it was on and it was nice to slide it around to get things out. Plenty of room for snacks in the belt zip pockets. The magnet is a bit weak that holds the bite tube and I wish it had 2L for longer summer rides or a way to hold a water bottle. The bladder does take up a lot of storage space, I do realize I'm asking for more water storage yet complaining how much room it takes up.

Perfect for short trips with a tiny amount of gear

Perfect for a half-day hike or 2 hour bike ride. Holds 1.5 liters of water which just about gets me through. I hate carrying anything on my back because of a neck/shoulder issue and this places all the weight on my hips which are still holding out OK. Not much space left after putting all that water in so be prepared to wear your jacket around your waist and for your sandwich to be squished!

good little hydro bag

This is a pretty good hydro pack. I will admit as a lifelong hydro-backpack user that it took some time to adjust to having something g around my waist and hanging/resting over my hips when I ride. But once I figured out the proper adjustments and got used to the change it turns out to be a great solution for warmer days and short to medium rides. It carries just enough water for what I need on average and has plenty of apace to Cary keys, wallet, phone and tools etc. I’ve never had a problem with the tube coming off the magnet, even when I’ve taken spill and had a dirt sandwich. The magnet is strong and does it’s job well. The tube is long enough for a talk rider (I’m 6’5”) who required a bit more reach than the average rider does. I do have to tighten the waist belt as I drink water, that’s a bit of a bother but I’m not sure how to change that. It’s just the nature of the beast I suppose. All in all I’m very pleased with the waist pac. Excellent for hot July and august rides!

It’s good

It’s a good water pack, I just realized it is specifically for mountain biking! But today I used it for hiking and it worked nicely! I’m glad osprey made this more roomy, I’m plus size so it was nice for this to fit me

Not as good as their backpacks

My first waist pack, 4th osprey product. I expected more TBH. The bite valve magnet is right next to the hip zippered pocket with a pull strap. In addition the magnet on the tube does not stay in one place, so be ready to add zip ties (annoying) this will not solve it the magnet rotating. In addition black trails can cause the hose to come off and flap around. Decent space inside; I like how the pack sits most of the time. I ride with a dropper and dropping the seat post does cause the pack to sometimes hit the tire; this is something I'm sure is true of all packs.

Nice pack

Nice size pack. If, like me you don’t like the backpack type hydration pack. Room for some odds and ends. They could improve with a better system for the tube. This magnetic holder might be fine for hiking but biking, no. I bought separately a quick release for the tube and a cap, both things other brands include.

Much better than riding with a backpack...

Great pack, less sweat on back, just large enough to hold the essentials. Side pockets are convenient for a bar or gel.

Uncomfortable and hose is insecure and hard to use

I loaded this full with water and about 2 lbs of food and tools for a 6 hr gravel & road ride. Immediately, I noticed it would not stay put unless I cinched the belt (and compression) so tightly, it was uncomfortable...and then when standing, it would still slip on my lycra bibs. Hose is very difficult to reconnect to the magnet...needs a spring loaded lanyard/retractor to guide it back, and it popped loose in rough terrain and was dangling against my rear wheel. I gave up and stowed the hose planning to use it to simply refill my bottles, and the hose took a permanent kink and appears to have a crack developing.
