Does not last and Icebreaker does not honor warranty. Icebreaker used to have a Lifetime Guarantee and now just 1 year. Why does a company go from a Lifetime Guarantee to 1 year? Poor quality perhaps? I bought a pair of Run+ Ultralight Twister HTH running socks a few years ago. Not used very much as I have dozens of other brands. I bought these from REI because of the Lifetime Warranty. After maybe 20 runs, holes wore out in the toe section. I sent Icebreaker a photo of the package saying Lifetime Warranty and the socks. They refused to honor the warranty! For an $18/pair, I would expect them to honor the Warranty. I would post the photo of the packaging, but this site locked out that feature.
I have been using IB socks for years. Sadly though, the longevity has gone downhill over the past 4-5 years. So much so, that I can't even get a full years use before they wear out. And now that the lifetime sock warranty is gone, I just can't justify spend $20 on a pair of sock that I will throw out in a year. Guess Darn Tough is starting to look pretty good.
Socks are comfortable and warm, despite their light weight. Ordered size medium and are snug on size 10 shoe size feet.
I was looking for light Merino socks for cycling. I really like Icebreaker and maybe these are good for hiking but really need something thinner to be good for cycling. I ended up returning these and buying Smartwool.
Out of all the socks I’ve bought for running, these are probably my favorite for running. It has the right amount of stretch without being as constricting as other wool/poly blend socks. The durability is questionable though, but I’ve had these for 6mo and they’re still good, despite a bit of pilling.
Different sockmakers, same result: Excellent socks. I have a tendency to buy Darn Tough socks and found these ice breakers on sale. Very good quality, nice comfort level for me: not too thick or thin, a little tight at first but have since loosened up a bit. Finding Quality Merino wool socks can be a difficult task, but the icebreakers made it easy…
Great fitting sock! Love the material and glove like fit - even for my extra wide feet. Absolutely no bunching or heel slippage. If I have one concern it’s the outside edge of one sock developed some scruffiness after the first use. Hasn’t gotten worse after that though.
Very comfortable, but after only a few months of light use, broad worn spots appeared on the heel and front of the sock. Both turned into holes a few wears later. You'd expect better durability for the price. Would not recommend as a result.
Best Mini socks i have ever purchase, light, padded and handle heat and cold. Bought 3 other pair shortly after trying these out the first time!
Soft, stretchy, cool, cushioned but not “pillowy” — a great sock especially for those using minimalist shoes.
