Classic

Perfect for mixed glacier/climbing routes with minimal technical terrain but you can do some scrambles as needed. Wish it came with a leash or trigger for more secure handling but otherwise a solid choice for the money.

Sharp and light

The angle in the head is nice for steeper terrain. Only comment is that the cutout in the adze makes it less effective for digging, but that can be remedied with a piece of duct tape covering the cutout.

Great ice axe

Great experience with other shoppers. Clerks were a little pushy about buying things I did not need, like caps for this axe were not necessary, but the clerk insisted they were.

Best Tool To Take

This performs perfectly on trips, and steep slopes. I can always rely upon it to get me through steep terrain. It is something I take with me on all my trips, even if I may encounter little snow.

Great ice axe

Perfectly weighted ice axe - feels very nice in the hand, and the newly designed shaft shape allows me to know which way the axe is pointing without looking at it - a brilliant feature.

Lightweight and strong

Well made, light, yet strong. It doesn't appear super heavy duty but that wasn't what it designed for and not the use I have it for. A good product from Black Diamond.

Lightweight and functional

I was shocked at how light the axe felt. Durable and functional. Eases the mind on steeper slopes with its ability to dig in.

Love this axe, it's just

Love this axe, it's just aggresive enough to get you out of a tight spot but classic enough for long days on steep snow.
