Use mostly to keep USB power banks topped up and use the power banks to charge my devices. Works well for this job as i dont really want to keep my iPhone plugged directly to the panel (too much heat, plus im not sitting out there next to the panel all day so i don't want my phone there either). It works for that purpose however. As to the poor reviews on iPhone not charging when directly connected to the panel. An IPhone wont charge past 80% if your iPhone settings have enabled "optimized battery charging". iPhone knows your normal charging routine, and battery charging stops when it reaches 80% no matter what its plugged into. 99% of people charge their phone overnight next to their beds and your phone knows this, so trying to charge it at 2 in the afternoon when the sun is out, yes it wont charge all the way up. Change your phone settings and it will.

This was disappointing on the most basic level. When I set up the Nomad 10 to charge my iphone, the iphone said "this device is incompatible". I tried multiple devices of different family members and none worked.

Power anywhere

The Goal Zero Nomad 10 panel was perfect. I was camping on my motorcycle so I did not have a lot of storage space. It is compact but puts out plenty of charge to charge the power pack I had it hooked to. I was able to charge my battery pack throughout the day then charge my phone, earbuds and I pad at night. Pretty cool

Best I've found

Out of all the solar panels I've bought, this is the best. It still takes 3 days to fully charge my 10k battery bank, but that's the fastest I've found, and I live in Fluorida. However, it's the only option I've found. It is very rugged however, as it has to be to survive my lifestyle. It's light and easy to carry on my pack as well. I own 2 as well as a nomad 7. I carry them all on long trips into rough country for weeks at a time. Works fairly well in cloudy conditions as well. I especially appreciate that it doesn't drain my battery bank when the sunlight isn't sufficient.

Charges all my devices!

I got this for a camping trip in the United and tested it out before I left. It charges my iPhone pretty fast. I didn't test how long for a full charge but in about 15 minutes I got 10% battery charge in full sun. it does not come with any cables so you need your own depending on what device you have. I also charged my Amazon tablets, and as long as you don't have any applications open, it charges pretty fast as well. I am very happy with this and I would recommend this to others.

A good little intro piece for small projects

This is my first step into solar power. The panels themselves seem sturdy. It's about the size and weight of a magazine. So it shouldn't be a problem to attach to a backpack, side of a tent or place on a table. I was able to set it next to a tree in my back yard, head to work and returned at the end of the day to find my previously empty power bank completely charged. The only real cons I can see are that it doesn't open flat easily and I can definitely see this blowing over in a sturdy breeze. I was also kind of hoping I could chain these together and work toward charging laptops and cameras. But no such luck. Definitely looking forward to seeing what all this can do though.

Pleased with the performance

I purchased this small panel along with a flip24 battery pack with the intention of using for backpacking and motorcycle camping. A winter storm has knocked out our power (going on 5 days now) and the combination of this solar panel and the power pack have been great. Even on an overcast day it charges the power-pack, (but not my phone), and if the sun is shining it will charge devices directly. So far I am very pleased with this purchase and it seems to work as advertised.

Cannot recommend.

Bought this from REI ~4 months ago. The first one turned out to be used and defective. The part of the back that the "stand" clips into had been pulled off, likely because unless you're careful and pull away AND up it feels like it's "stuck." It also wasn't charging as it should. Returned that and got a replacement. It was great, for about 3 months... now this one isn't charging as it should... most likely the flat wire that connects the panels along the flexible center broke, so only one panel is working, which, I realize, was what qas wrong with the last one. I have mostly babied this thing, with a short stint hanging outside my pack as shown in some of the marketing photos (do not recommend at all), so I feel this failure is a manufacturing defect and seems very likely to happen.

Decently light and charges well!

I've used this solar panel on a few trips, ranging from 2 to 5 nights in the past year. First time using a portable solar panel in years and have been quite sceptical about this one. To my surprise, it works quite well! In full direct sunlight it does get really hot, however. To the point where i might get concerned with overheating in dry environments so i try to not leave it unattended if that is the case. The good sides of it, it charges my phone from 10% to full within 3 hours while at camp. 3 hours of charge time leaves with enough room to fill my goal zero 12 power bank or charge my DSLR camera battery before the sun goes down in camp. With it not being too heavy and decently quick charge time, it's coming along with me on 2+ night trips to keep my dslr and phone going for those backcountry shoots.

works well, solid build

I have not used this much, but the test run worked well to charge a 10,000 mAh storage battery for charging USB devices, even on an overcast day. It is not QUITE as portable as it appears, due to the rather sturdy charging outlet on the back of the device (where the USB cable plugs in), but it still fits easily into any space designated for a laptop inside a backpack. I feel confident that this will work to extend/back up my use of small devices on longer trips.

Powered multiple devices on a one-month expedition

I purchased this for my son for his NOLS expedition to Patagonia and he was able to power a Kindle, Nikon camera and REI's expensive rechargeable headlamp for one month while he was on their Mountaineering section. I do not know if he had issues with it falling over but he either leaned it against a rock or his pack or something. I do know that he clipped it to the top of his backpack at times as they were hiking and I do know that he used the included rechargeable battery to charge his devices and did NOT attempt to charge any devices directly. All I know, is that this solar panel thing allowed him to maintain three devices while being extremely off the grid in the Chilean ice fields and nothing broke or failed him. According what I read on the know-it-all internet, the included battery can charge two iphones on a full charge. My son did not have an Iphone with him but in my Massachusetts backyard in November, I was able to charge the battery 1/2 way on a cloudy afternoon in 4 hours. So, if you're thinking of camping and charging an iphone, this solar panel and battery can do it in 4 hours if it is facing the sun. Bottom line, if you're spending tons of money to send your kids into the wilderness for an extended period of time and you want pictures, this will work.
