The fit has changed...

This it the third one of this specific design I've bought in three years, so obviously I'm a big fan! My other two from the past two years have a great, flattering fit in size small-I get compliments and questions about them routinely. I wear them ALL THE TIME-around the house, to hang out with friends, and for travel. But...the new one I got this year is definitely not the same fit. It's baggy and not something I'd wear out of the house. Still completely warm and utilitarian, but not anything I'd get complimented on like the last two. Maybe if I'd gone down a size it would have been better, but it was a gift so not an option... Wish it fit as perfectly as my other two.

Versatile, cozy, and warm!

If I could give more stars, I would. In fact, I was just getting back to the REI site to see if I could buy ANOTHER ONE. I am 6'2" and bought size L. I lloooooooovvvee the long arm and body length, as well as the softness and thickness of the fabric. It's warm, versatile, cozy. I like to wear mine w a silk long-sleeve layer underneath - and it's perfect. If ever this shows up again in size L [currently appears to be sold out], I will buy another - so I can have one for outdoor workwear, and one to more carefully keep in good condition - for indoor coziness. I highly recommend!

LOVE this shirt!

I wear this product on cold fall/winter days in Michigan. It is comfortable and the material feels nice against the skin even without an undershirt.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I winter hike the NH 48 4,000'. This base layer keeps me toasty. Wicks very well.

Exceeds expectations!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The first time I wore the hoodie I was in the mountains hiking in the snow in a hoodless coat. A wind storm erupted out of nowhere. I donned the hoodie and covered as much of my forehead and face as I could. Surprisingly, it quickly interrupted the stinging cold. The second time wearing it was a trip to GB in winter. It was cold, windy and wet! I ended up wearing the hoodie every day! I purchased a heavier Scottish merino wool sweater to survive, but the two combined ensured I was toasty warm in the most extreme conditions we encountered. I remain a fan!

So cute and functional!

I looooove this hoodie. I've become the three-year-old that refuses to wear anything else for days at a time. I love the two-tone blue, and the material is so soft. The long arms are great, too. This shirt runs very large- I wear a medium for Smartwool baselayer tops, and the medium of this hoodie was several inches too wide on each side and looked silly. The small fits well, although it's still a more relaxed fit than I would expect. That means I can fit another baselayer underneath, which makes it the perfect winter sweater!

My new favorite hoodie!

Love this hoodie! It's soft and comfortable and stretched out ever so slightly and now fits even better. I will say it's not particularly thick or warm but for a mild temp day (mid 40Fs) it's perfect! And super cute! I purchased an extra small (probably would have ordered a small if it was available.) I'm 5'6" and 125lbs and measure 32" chest, 26.5" waist, 32.5" high hip, 35" hip, and 61" torso (measured over the shoulder and through the legs.) This hoodie hits me right where my legs meet my hips-ideal!!

Favorite shirt to lounge in

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This has by far become my most staple comfy lounge shirt. The wool is so soft and the neck is soft and not bothersome after all day wear. I bought the small and extra small to see what size I would prefer, I am 5'2/114#/34B, and both actually fit good. I am normally a small in most shirts. This shirt is loose, so not meant to be tight. The extra small fit me well in the chest and armpit area. The small was just slightly longer and after trying both for a full day around the house, I noticed I gravitated more toward the looser fit, the small, just for comfort around the chest and length area. So if you want a bit more form fitting (although still loose) shirt to go out and look flattering in, then size down. But if you want a looser lounge and comfy shirt, then go with your regular size. #sweepstakes

Absolute go-to piece!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Absolute go-to for travel and mid-layering piece. The quality of the Smartwool clothing is on point. Every detail of craftsmanship is addressed. The knit is silky smooth, seams are never bulky, and resists the pilling and nappy effects of washing. While you can put them in the dryer on LOW, I chose to dry flat. The fit On the Smartwool hoodies is more of a loose fit, but still offers an hourglass fit- thankfully not a boxy square style. If you are in between - I would suggest size up.
