If your looking for a pair of snowboard boots that feel (& look) like sneakers - look no further! Heat mold-able so they form to your feet. Boa lacing is super fast and on this boot feels better than others, less pinch points! I wear a size 8.5 in street shoes, but 8 in board boots to keep heel locked in, very snug at first but molds out perfect. A month in (with weekly riding) I've found these to be too soft for my tastes. I tend to crank them tighter then needed as the day goes on & kudos to that boa for keeping the pinch at minimum for my overcompensation. Overall a great boot.
I wear size 8 Vans shoes, but needed size 9 for these boots. I'm an intermediate rider, stick mostly to groomers, and like to go fast. Wish I had gone for stiffer boots. These are not responsive enough. Boa has popped out once. It's hard to get them tight enough around the calf, but that could be related to the softness. I'm overcompensating - tying them tighter to try and get that precision. First 2 days of riding were unbearably painful too - the boots are so stiff around bridge that I had severe pain after only a couple of hours. After that trip, I replaced the factory insoles with some warn-in ones from an old pair of Nikes. Created a bit more space through the foot and toes. They've been pretty comfy ever since.
These are my second pair of snowboard boots and the first ones that have ever broken on me. I take very good care of my equipment as well. The pros are that I loved the feeling when I was riding. The boot allowed me too feel my way through jumps and powder. The cons were that the boots made my feet cold (compared to other boots), the tightening of the boot wasn't consistent throughout and the BOA broke on me after 1 and half years of riding - female riding at that!
Do not buy these boots. After only half a season of use, the BOA has ripped out of the side of the boot. As others have said, they can't be repaired. They are unusable and I will have to buy new boots. Do not buy these boots. I got hurt at the beginning of last season and only used them twice and they broke two months into this season. Because I have had them longer than a year. Van's won't honor the warranty.
I got these for my kid but they didn't fit her. Thought about keeping them for myself but they are not the same quality as the my Salomon boots. They run about one size small. They look even cooler in real life. The stitching and and sole quality seems pretty excellent. The cable tightening system seems quality. They are light weight. The stance seems wrong. If you stand in them on flat ground, it feels like the heel pressure is wrong. Like it wants you to move your weight back. The stability material seems kind of low quality.
the sizing chart provided here is different from the official vans sizing chart. i bought a 6 thinking that it'd be 23cm however it's 22.5cm in reality. all the mondo/centimeter are 0.5cm smaller than listed here.
This boots are extremely comfortable! And I love the Vans style! The color on the picture is spot on. Size-wise I wear a size 7.5 in shoes and the boots felt true to size. Lastly the quality of the boots feels great and I will be able to enjoy many seasons with them. All in all I am very happy with my purchase.
These boots are so comfy, after a couple of wears they feel like slippers. Really warm and the the fact that there's no laces make it super easy to use when you're wearing thick mittens/gloves etc. Definitely worth the money :)
I bought these boots at the end of last season. I went on a ski trip at the very beginning of this season and the boa system completely tore out of the side. I brought them to a ski shop and they said that they were unrepairable. I only used these boots for normal snowboard use and took generally good care of them. Not to mention the base of the boots were too big for my Burton bindings so it often got stuck in the bindings. If you want a good quality boot go with a brand that has more experience making quality products.
I would have given these boots a five star if they shared a disclaimer that they fit small & are not true to size! I should have took the time to read previous reviews on other sites. Ensure you size up between half to one full size larger than your true to size foot!! Other wise I'd totally provide a 5 star for comfort, durability, and style! Would purchase again and, recommend. Loved the service I received from Vans
