I wear a US 10.5 or EU 44 and bought the shoes in the 44 size. Inside the shoe the label shows it as being a US 9.7 and this is close to being accurate. No way I could wear a thin cotton sock and fit my foot into the shoe. The Velcro straps are also much too short to work as intended and provide no room for adjustment. I am finding this to be a common problem where shoes are sold as 44 EU and are either EU 43.3 as shown on the shoe as with these shoes that are labeled as EU 44 and are US 9.7 size. It seems that one needs to go to a store and try on the shoes and not trust the sizing provided by the manufacturers.
The Shimano RC1 are the perfect entry level shoe to get into road biking. They vent well, have a very simple velcro strap system, and are fairly lightweight.
I have a pair of specialized size 44 and they fit perfectly. Bought these shimano on the same size and they do not fit. Apparently shimano size 44 translate to size 9 and half in U.S not 10.5
Shoe fit peloton cleats very well. Sizing was strange where one size was too short and the size higher was too wide; normally I don't have that sort of Goldilocks problem with European sized shoes. Also the sole wasn't as stiff as my two-hole cycling shoes at the same price point. I returned it and paid $40 more and got a much better three-hole shoe, which may not have been the right decision.
Fit well and are comfortable. Using on Pelton bike
I absolutely love these shoes. Comfortable on commutes and long rides. Haven't encountered downpours with them yet but probably getting shoe covers regardless.
I got these used at a REI garage sale and they are great. they are so comfortable, and work well with my cleats. they run small though, I am a size 9, and 10.5 fit me with a little wiggle room.
Got these to replace some old Shimano shoes. Overall they are decent but the velcro straps have limited ability to tighten so if you like to have the straps very tight, i'd look for a model with something other than velcro straps. They have decent ventilation. This is only my second pair of road bike shoes but it is SUPER easy to roll your ankle in these with the heel design when walking. I would no repurchase this model. Maybe all road bike shoes are like this but my last pair was not like this. You just have to be careful when walking.
I would recommend sizing up. Usually a 41 EU in Birkenstock brand, had to size up to 43 EU.
Light shoe, perhaps a little smaller than size indicates. Make sure to order cleats. REI is a great place to order online because easy returns at store.
