This shoe replaced on that I had used for over 10 years and recently used on a 3,762 mile tour across the country. Those shoes were worn out but I was nervous about replacing them. The Shimano RC3 shoes are a perfect fit. Literally, I had a smaller shoe size and had to order these online. When they arrived and I put them on, I knew these were the ones. Having used them for a couple of months on the training, I’m only enjoying them more. The RC3 shoes are a solid shoe that I expect to get many years of wear from.
I have used these for racing and casual cycling for around 750 miles. So far they are in great condition with only minor scuffs from my own mistakes. the BOA lets it fit very comfortably throughout the upper and allows for quick tightening/release. These are a great addition for any road biking activity and have held up great so far. There is an under side vent that has been amazing for cooling my feet off on hot summer days and have added a lot of power to my peddling. Looking forward to many more miles with these and my speedplay comp pedals.
Works perfect with my SPD pedals. They look great, they feel even better. Very easy to tighten and remove. I do tend to get numb on the outside of my foot after 25 miles or so, but that may be just the way I have been riding in them. I love these shoes either way! If you ride in sub-50º weather, get a shoe cover or toe warmer. These can get VERY cold, especially with the air vent on the bottom.
Purchased a pair following the size chart. They came but they are way too small both length and width. Will need to return to the store and purchase the next size up.
Very Comfortable, soft supple top side easily conforms to foot. The breathing vent on front bottom of sole causes air to pass through shoe and exit on topside air holes. Comfortable on 25 mile rides. Have not yet tried longer ride with new shoes. Will do soon.
They're pretty comfortable shoes. I have stupidly wide feet (typically wear size 12 wide New Balance) and they're able to fit me better than I expected without having to size up to a US 13. They push in slightly at the Boa, but it hasn't led to anything worse than momentary discomfort on two hour rides
I use these shoes with my Peloton. Peloton shoes I order were just way to narrow for my feet. These shoes are very comfortable and supportive. I would highly recommend these shoes for anyone, especially for people with flat wide feet like mine.
Comfortable shoes, well made. Soft upper fits like a glove, with enough room in toe box to wiggle toes up and down. Heel area a little loose, but doesn’t affect performance. Bottom sole rigid enough for putting down torque off the saddle. Never felt fatigued during morning group rides, around 4 hours long. Very happy with these shoes for its intended purpose. Great value thanks to REI's price adjustment policy.
I bought my first pair a few years ago and have loved them ever since.
The shoe's sole is good and stiff for power transfer. I have a narrow foot and as such these shoes, having only one BOA dial, I was not able to get the front of the shoe tight enough. The result was calluses on the balls of my feet right where they made contact with the pedal. After battling that for some time (they were painful they were so thick) I bought the Shimano RC7. They have two BOA dials per shoe and I am able to get the shoe to fit much tighter. I also found the shoe to be more difficult to get on than other shoes I have owned due to the upper thickness.
